Project Experience (continued): Specified foundation and framing repair methods for 80 to 100 year old dormitories at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC and Barber Scotia College in Concord, NC due to renovation. Performed structural design and analysis to allow for adaptive reuse of industrial buildings as apartments and retail space. An example of which would be the Royal Truss at Steel Gardens rehabilitation and adaptation project for loft apartments in the NoDa area of Charlotte. Retained by numerous insurance adjusters to determine extent and causes of structural damage relating to insurance claims resulting from fire and water damage, tree and vehicular impact, moisture intrusion and other damages. Determined causes of and repairs for structural and performance failures in retaining walls, floors, roofs, chimneys, church steeples and foundation walls. Specified repair methods for a variety of foundation settlement conditions. Retained as a consultant by television station NBC6 as part of an investigation on stability of mobile classrooms used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Expert witness and litigation consultant in mediations, arbitrations, civil jury trials and at the North Carolina General Contractors Licensing Board in cases involving structural design errors, construction defects and moisture related problems.
