Are you interested in being part of the best chemistry team in SoCal? Join the National Chemistry Olympiad (NChO) study team and prepare for the competition in March by coming to our first meeting on Wed 10/5 at lunch in room 213. Students do not need any prior chemistry experience, just a willingness to learn and work hard.
Are you interested in making $100 or possibly even $200? Are you perhaps great at creating t-shirt designs!? Well, we hope we’ve caught your attention, because this opportunity is for you! Starting today, Tiger Run and Tiger Cub t-shirt designs are now open! The requirements for both shirt designs is that they have to: 1. Contain the phrase “Tiger Run 5k/10k 2016” 2. Contain the phrase “Tiger Cub Run 2016” 3. Be designed by yourself and not taken from the internet. 4. The logo needs to be black and orange and include the theme of a tiger. 5. Be submitted as a 10x10 vectorized logo. The deadline for the t-shirt designs is November 4th and must be submitted to Commissioner of Athletics, Jalynne Li! SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS: The PSAT will be administered at SPHS on Saturday, October 15th. If you need to register, SPHS is still accepting online registrations via the SPHS ASB Web Store for $25. To access the Web Store, go to http://www.sphstigers.org/, go to the Activities tab, click Associated Student Body, then click ASB Web Store. Once there, create your family’s account and place your order. With confirmation receipt in hand, newly registered students should follow up with Mr. Hogan (at lunchtime or after school, room 615) to pick up a PSAT Test Booklet.
The Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce, more commonly known as the “Jaycees,” is proud to continue the Junior Chamber of Commerce Youth Intern Program for its fourth year. The program gives citizens under the age of 21 a chance to develop their networking and project management skills through our community service projects. Interested students should attend the Info Session on Monday, October 10th, at 7:15pm. The Info Session will be held at the Curtin House at the Pasadena History Museum, located at 474 W. Walnut St., Pasadena, CA 91103. For more information, please see Ms. Fox at the Counseling/Career Center or Mrs. Barela at Student Services.
The next scheduled Saturday School is October 8th from 8am to 12pm. The student assigned list for this date will be posted beginning October 3rd, at the window outside Students Services, between the attendance windows and the library.
