SHARICE DAVIDS SHOWS STRONG GRASSROOTS MOMENTUM IN FINAL MONTH OF PRIMARY CAMPAIGN KANSAS CITY, Kan. - With less than a week to go before the Aug. 7 primary election, Sharice Davids’ Congressional campaign has received a significant influx of local grassroots support. Since the campaign launched in February, more than 3,500 individuals have contributed to Davids’ efforts. Of those, 1,000+ came from the state of Kansas. The Davids campaign has raised $202,000 and counting in the last month alone. Volunteers have also flocked to the campaign in these final weeks, allowing Davids’ field program to grow exponentially. Hundreds of volunteers have made tens of thousands of voter contacts via phone and face-to-face meetings in the past four weeks. “My name is on this campaign but this is about so much more than me,” Davids said. “The energy and excitement people are contributing is what will bring us a victory on Aug. 7.” ### About Sharice Davids: A proud Kansan, Sharice Davids was raised by a single mom. After graduating from Johnson County Community College, she earned an Ivy League law degree from Cornell and went on to work for President Barack Obama as a White House Fellow. Sharice has focused her career on bringing equality to underserved communities and providing more opportunities to help middle-class families get ahead. She’ll work to expand access to affordable health care, strengthen our public schools, make college more affordable and invest in our infrastructure to create more good-paying jobs.
