FORMER DOT SEC. ANTHONY FOXX ENDORSES SHARICE DAVIDS IN KS-03 PRIMARY KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Sharice Davids, Democratic candidate in the Kansas Third Congressional District, has received the endorsement of former Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx. During her time as a White House Fellow, Davids worked directly with Sec. Foxx on several federal policy initiatives. “I know Sharice Davids well, having worked with her in the US Department of Transportation,” Foxx said. “She is committed to improving the conditions of ordinary people in Kansas and advancing progressive values. Sharice will not just be a good member of Congress; she will be a great one.” While serving under Sec. Foxx in the Department of Transportation, Davids was responsible for updating the Department's Title VI non-discrimination order, which gives guidance to anyone who receives federal financial assistance. She also worked on the Secretary’s Ladders of Opportunity Initiative, primarily on the Leadership Academy. A suite of materials and resources her team created to help educate and engage community members and increase transparency around the transportation planning process. “It was a great privilege to work with Secretary Foxx as a White House Fellow,” Davids said. “I appreciate his mentorship and his support of my Congressional campaign.” ###
