JOB DESCRIPTION Post title: Alternative Provision Manager Grade/salary: Grade 4 Reports to: Assistant Principal - SENCO Direct report(s): None Position: Full time, term time (44.4 weeks) PURPOSE OF THE POST
Manage the alternative provision unit, developing an appropriate and suitable alternative curriculum focused on building skills, resilience, communication and self-responsibility. • Overseeing smooth operational and strategic running of the Focus Centre, oversight of further Centers should they arise and teams, (ARNA provision, complex Case provision & Primary Provision) Safeguarding lead for all provisions • Liaison with schools (including primary) agencies & parents CPD for all provision staff. • Purchasing and budget oversight. • Monitor/maintaining the administration of the Centre • Contributing to organisational policy regarding quality standards and strategic planning. Quality assurance and reporting of all provisions on offer Preparation of termly and end of year reports. Pastoral support of all students attending provision MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading all times linked to the Focus Centre. Ensuring smooth transition to new premises including Health and Safety, risk assessment and safeguarding remits are met. Ordering and overseeing the budget – regularly contact with assistant principal Linking with all schools / agencies to provide current up to date information Invoicing schools and funding of Centre including EBAP Ensuring Safeguarding, Health and Safety and all school procedures are adhered to reporting to the Assistant Principal Creating a climate for learning with the team at the Provisions Ensuring daily reports / registers are emailed to all schools and appropriate staff Collating in the reporting progress half termly on each student both academically and pastorally and disseminating to schools. To have regular meetings with both education and behavior teams to ensure the smooth running of the provisions. Ensure the appropriate escalation of issues and areas of concern to the relevant manager. Demonstrate a commitment to the ongoing development of yourself and others. To coordinate the team in consultation with the Assistant Principal, specifically in the following key areas: cover for absence, reassignment of the team to cope with work pressure, work records,
service quality and self-review, work shadowing and skills development, team building and section representation Lead on behavior management strategies and individualised packages for students. 1-1 pastoral support to all students accessing provisions Ensuring transport of students is safe and sufficient CPD for Centre staff, ensuring that team members are fully trained, well-motivated and effectively deployed to maintain a professional and reliable service Team Improvement Plans To comply fully with the policies and procedures of the Academy, to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, and to set a good example to the students through your presentation, and your personal and professional conduct To keep the Assistant Principal and fully informed of any service or staff issues.
