June 4, 2016 2:00 P.M. Graduates arrive in lineup area 3:00 P.M. Ceremony Reed Arena, Texas A&M University, College Station Parking is available at Reed Arena on the Texas A&M University campus. Transportation Services of Texas A&M University will be charging a $5 fee for each vehicle entering Reed Arena parking lot . All graduates should park in the 100A parking lot at Reed Arena.
Once arriving at Reed Arena follow the instructions carefully. Faculty will be on hand to assist you if you have questions or need assistance. Share this information with your parents, so that they will know what to expect on graduation day. The graduation ceremony is a school function. Do not jeopardize your participation by making poor choices prior to or during the ceremony. Remember that graduation is a dignified ceremony. Therefore, inappropriate behavior and noisemakers will be addressed by security. Dress Code Graduation Gown To remove wrinkles, hang your gown in a warm, steamy location, such as a bathroom after a hot shower. Do not attempt to press your gown, it will melt. Put your name on your cap and gown. For female graduates, bring bobby pins to secure the cap. Graduation Dress Attire Students shall comply with the Magnolia ISD dress code policy. Dress code/hair code inspections will be conducted before the graduation ceremony. Those students violating MISD dress code policies will not be allowed to participate in the program. Gentlemen: Please wear dark slacks, white dress shirt, tie, black dress shoes, and be clean shaven. No earrings, shorts, tshirts, bow ties, sandals, tennis or athletic shoes will be allowed. Women: Please wear a dress or black slacks, and black dress shoes (shoes with some heel look best). No purses, corsages, casual sandals, tennis or athletic shoes will be allowed. All graduates: No gum, cameras, food, drinks, or bags of any kind will be allowed on the floor. Only cords awarded by the school may be worn. Graduation Caps: At the beginning of the ceremony, your tassel will be placed on the left side of your cap. You will be told when to move your tassel to the right side. Messages are not allowed on the top of the graduation cap.
Graduate Entrance: Enter Reed Arena through the North side lower level doors only. Proceed to the Graduate line up area (Practice Gym, Room 085). Parents and friends may enter the seating area through the upper concourses. Only graduates will be allowed to enter the line up area. Faculty members will be there to direct you. Do not take anything into the line up area. All personal belongings should be left with family members. No one will be allowed to accompany you past this point (including parents). Graduate Line Up : Students will begin forming the processional lines at 2:00 PM with the assistance of the line leaders. There will be signs indicating row numbers. Do not leave your place in line. Limit your intake. There is no time for restroom breaks once the line is formed. Processional : At 2:50 PM, the line leaders will move the beginning of the lines to the entrance of the Reed Arena floor. At 3:00 PM, the procession will begin. Line leaders will lead you as you enter Reed Arena. Watch your pace and spacing as you walk in the processional. This is the first chance that the audience will have to see you. The processional will proceed to the outside of the respective section and enter their row through the center aisle. The line leaders will help direct you. Remain standing in front of your chair until you are directed to sit. Student speakers should go directly to their seats on stage. Late Arrivals: Once the processional has begun, you will not be allowed to enter the concourse to the graduate area and walk in with your class. If you arrive late, go to Guest Service, Main Entrance, Room 176, to be escorted to the arena and slipped into place when your line moves forward to the stage ramp. You will not get to walk across the stage at all if you get there after your name has been called. Crossing the stage: On directions from the line leaders, each row will rise, turn to the right and walk through the entire row of seats to approach the stage from the right side. Wait at the top of the ramp until the counselor calls your name. Walk across the stage and shake hands with each person there to congratulate you. As you reach the school board representative, shake hands with your right hand and reach over the handshake with your left hand to take the diploma cover. Then you will have your photograph taken with Dr. Garza. Walk down the steps and pick up your diploma at the table located to the left of the stage. Return to your chair and be seated. Do not do anything inappropriate or foolish on stage. Your diploma may be jeopardized if you make poor behavioral decisions. Recessional: Graduates will leave Reed Arena floor simultaneously in an orderly manner, beginning with the last row by the center aisle, led by line leaders. Follow your line leader out; do not stop until you are outside.
Class of 2016 Important information Scholarships and Acceptance Bring a copy of your scholarship and acceptance letter to Mrs. Everett, Room 1420, as soon as possible. This is very important, so that we can update your student account and recognize you at Scholarship Night th on May 24 . We would like to include any amount in the Class of 2016 total scholarships awarded. This includes any scholarships that were offered to you, regardless of the school you are planning on attending.

Attendance Information ● Student can lose credit due to excessive absences. ● Semester courses are allowed 9 absences before loss of credit occurs. ● Year long courses are allowed 18 absences before loss of credit occurs. ● Students need to remember the 90% rule—students must be in class 90% of class time throughout the school year in order to earn credit for the course. Final Transcripts : Colleges require a final transcript to enroll in the fall. You will need this even if you have already been accepted. To order your final transcript, you will need to fill out your Senior Check Out Survey in Family Connections between May 2nd 6th ( http://succeed.naviance.com/magnoliawest ). The transcripts will be mailed the week following graduation. If you do not complete the Senior Check Out Survey request by graduation, your transcript will not be mailed until the office opens back up in August.

April 68, during all lunches $65.00 per ticket, May 2427, during all lunches $70.00 per ticket, May 28th at the door, cash only $75.00 per ticket. Date forms for nonMWHS students are due by May 24th. Project Prom : May 29th from 12am6am (must be there by 1am) . MWHS Seniors are free. Dates are $35. Special Note: Magnolia West High does not sponsor a senior trip.
