The TestPoint 10Gbps Module supports a comprehensive set of line rates and protocols in the 10 Gbps range. Its applications include the testing of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (LAN / WAN) and SONET / SDH. Also offered are licensed options for 8 & 10 Gigabit Fibre Channel (8/10GFC), several Generic Framing Procedure (GFP) flavours, and Cisco high level data link control (HDLC) A factory installed hardware option provides forward error correction (FEC) and Enhanced FEC (EFEC) support at the following rates: ODU2 (10.037 Gbps), OTU2 (10.709 Gbps), OTU1e (11.049 Gbps) , OTU2e (11.095 Gbps) , OTU1f (11.270 Gbps) , and OTU2f (11.317 Gbps). The test interface uses a 10 Gigabit small form-factor pluggable (XFP) socket which supports optical and electrical connectivity options. The 10Gbps module can be inserted into multiple scalable chassis options, including the highly compact TS-10 configuration. Additional highlights of the 10 Gbps module include a strong focus on lower-layer testing and an RFC 2544 test suite for 10 GigE and 8 / 10GFC. Note: The TestPoint 10Gbps is available as a module for multi-slot systems (TestPoint TS-30 and TS-170) or in a static, self-contained configuration (TestPoint TS-10). The term module is used in this document.

The JDSU TestPoint 1Gbps Module provides two test ports for Ethernet from 10 Megabit to 1 Gigabit or 1 / 2 / 4 Gigabit Fibre Channel (FC) with a strong focus on lower-layer testing. Licensed options control the available protocols and line rates. Both ports may be used concurrently with each being independently controlled. The test interface uses small form-factor pluggable (SFP) sockets which support optical and electrical connectivity options, and enable the convenience of changing wavelengths and protocols. Traffic generation of up to 128 streams is provided on all supported Ethernet rates in standard configuration. With the ExStreams option, up to 4096 streams can be generated and analyzed. The TestPoint 1Gbps Module can be inserted into multiple scalable chassis options, including the highly compact TS-10 configuration. Up to sixteen 1Gbps modules can be inserted into the TS-170 for a total of 32 test ports in a single chassis. Note: The TestPoint 1 Gbps is available as a module for multi-slot systems (TestPoint TS-30 and TS-170) or in a static, self-contained configuration (TestPoint TS-10). The term module is used in this document

The TestPoint Multi-Rate Module is a single-slot, customizable module with three physical ports: OC-48/STM-16 (option for G.709 OTN), OC-3 /12 / STM-1/4, and Ethernet / Fibre Channel. One physical port can be active at a time for testing and at least one synchronous optical network technologies / synchronous digital hierarchy (SONET / SDH) port must be licensed. For the convenience of changing wavelengths and protocols, pluggable SFP optical / electrical interfaces are used. Traffic generation of up to 128 streams is provided on all supported Ethernet rates. A hardware option provides OTU1 support on the OC-48 / STM-16 port. Both SONET / SDH ports support licensed options for Ethernet over SONET / SDH (VCAT and GFP-F) and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM). Additional options include Ethernet over PDH (EoPDH) (DS1 / E1 / DS3 / E3 into SONET / SDH with GFP-F / HDLC payload), RPR Intrusive Monitor Mode on OC-48 / STM-16, and ODU1 line rate (2.499 G). The Multi-Rate Module can be inserted into multiple scalable TestPoint chassis including the highly compact TestPoint TS-10. Up to sixteen Multi-Rate modules can be inserted into the TS-170 for a high-density, rack-mounted test solution. NOTE:The TestPoint Multi-Rate is available as a module for multi-slot systems (TestPoint TS-30 and TS-170) or in a static,self-contained configuration (TestPoint TS-10).The term module is used in this document.

The JDSU TestPoint Group Controller is an optional single-slot module that plugs into slot 0 of the TestPoint TS-30 and TS-170 chassis. It provides the following main functions: −− Single local area network (LAN) (Static Internet Protocol [IP] or Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol [DHCP]) access point for test system management −− Enables a single IP address for an entire chassis when the TestPoint chassis contains multiple test modules −− Without the Group Controller, each module’s faceplate can be connected directly to the LAN −− Global test function capability to control testing across multiple modules within a chassis −− Synchronized test start for multiple modules −− Advanced clocking capabilities −− Expanded clocking features beyond those available on individual test modules −− Multiple external clock synchronization options −− Timing synchronization across entire chassis
