Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.”
Flat-tip screwdriver Diagonal cutters Ratchet 8 mm, 10 mm, and 12 mm Sockets 10 mm Open end wrench Trim Tool Set (SOJATP2014) (Available through the Honda Tool and Equipment program. On the iN, click on: Service/Service Bay/Tool and Equipment Program, then enter the number under “Search.” Or call 888-424-6857.)
NOTE: This antenna should only be installed if the ambient air temperature 15°C (60°F) or above. 1.
Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio unit and navigation system (if equipped), then write down the radio station presets.

Move the driver’s seat all the way back.
3.
Remove the air duct (two clips).

Setting the Control Unit 5.

Touch the metal part of the screwdriver to any metal part of the vehicle to discharge any static electricity.
Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the area where the protective tape will attach. Attach the protective tape to the control unit over the switches.

Remove the roof console. •
Using a small flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with a shop towel, pry out and remove the left and right lens (four retaining tabs each).

Open the sunglass holder and remove the four screws.
•
Remove the roof console (unplug the vehicle connectors).

Using a small flat-tip screwdriver, change the switches on the control unit to the setting shown above.

NOTE: • The switches must be selected before the control unit is plugged in.

If the switch setting is not correct, the remote engine starter will not operate correctly.
•
If you change the switch settings with the unit connected, you must disconnect the unit then reconnect it before the settings change.

Rotate the sunvisor holders 45° counterclockwise and remove the two sunvisor holders.
11. Pull away the door seal from around the driver’s A-pillar trim. Using a trim tool, remove the A-pillar cover (two retaining tabs and one hook).

10. Remove the driver’s sunvisor.

12. Remove the washer-bolt from the driver’s A-pillar.

Turn the sunvisor toward the driver’s seat.
•
Locate the slot in the sunvisor holder, and insert a flat-tip screwdriver into the slot. Push in and hold the retaining tab.

13. Remove the driver’s A-pillar trim (three clips). DRIVER’S A-PILLAR TRIM
While holding the retaining tab, push up on the sunvisor and rotate toward the door to remove. NOTE: If the retaining tab did not stay pushed in, return the driver’s sunvisor to its original position and repeat the above steps.
•
Remove the driver’s sunvisor (unplug the vehicle connector).
Push and hold the retaining tab.

15. Remove the steering column upper cover (two self-tapping screws and four retaining tabs). NOTE: Adjust the angle of the steering wheel to access each self-tapping screw.

37. Cut one urethane tape, and wrap one urethane tape around the engine starter harness 5-pin connector as shown.

67. Install the control unit bracket on top of the parking brake bracket and align the notch in the control unit bracket with the edge of the parking brake bracket. Reinstall the parking brake bracket flange nut, and torque it to 18.7 to 24.5 N·m (13.6 to 17.8 lbf·ft). Install the 8 mm nut (supplied) on top of the parking brake bracket flange nut, and torque it to 18.7 to 24.5 N·m (13.6 to 17.8 lbf·ft).

70. Attach the clip on the engine starter harness fuse case to the hole in the control unit bracket.

71. Bundle up the excess antenna cable, and secure it to the vehicle harness with the two wire ties loosely secured in step 40. Tighten the lower wire tie loosely secured in step 36. WIRE TIE

74. Check that all wire harness and cables are routed properly and that all connectors are plugged in. 75. Reinstall all removed parts. Take care not to pinch the airbag with the clip during reinstallation of the A-pillar trim. Do not push excessively on the A-pillar trim. 76. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 77. Check the operation of the headlights and wipers. 78. Enter the anti-theft code for the audio unit and the navigation system if equipped and reset the radio station presets. 79. Reset the clock on vehicles without navigation.

Select REGISTER REMOTE CONTROL ENGINE STARTER UNIT, then click the check button. 10. Input the PCM Code, then click the check button. NOTE: To ensure security, the PCM code (password) is changed everyday, so it is impossible to register the remote control engine starter if the dates of the PCM code acquisition and registration are different. The date of the HDS tester should also be the same. Input the PCM Code.

FUNCTION CHECK Operating Conditions • The hood is closed • The shift lever is in park • The key is out of the ignition and the key is outside the vehicle • All doors and tailgate closed and locked Inspection 1.
Within 1 second, press the command button, and then the start button on the transmitter. The engine should start if all operating conditions are met.
Does the engine start? Yes - Operation is normal. No: • Make sure all “Operating Conditions” are met. • Check the engine starter harness connections. • Connect the HDS and check for an indicated failure. (Refer to the appropriate service manual for details.) 2.
Press the command button on the transmitter, and within 1 second, press the stop button. The engine should stop.
DISPLAY

Yes - Operation is normal. No - Check the engine starter harness connections. 3.
STOP BUTTON
After the engine has stopped, start the engine again, and check that the engine stops after each of the following conditions:

NOTE: • After each test the ignition key must be cycled, or the driver’s door must be opened and closed. •
Move the shift lever out of the P position.
•
Unlock or open the doors or the tailgate.
•
Open the hood.
•
Insert the key in the ignition.
•
Press on the brake pedal.

Does the engine stop after each of these tests? Yes - Operation is normal. No - Check the engine starter harness connections. 4.
Check that the power window or the moonroof does not function and the shift lever does not move to any position when the engine is started with the transmitter.
5.
Start the engine again, press the command button on the transmitter two times and check the vehicle condition on the display.
6.
Check the operation of the transmitter when the vehicle is 100 m to 150 m (325 to 490 ft.) away and in direct sight.
