OPEN RABBIT DEPARTMENT First Half
Please also read the General Rules and Regulations of the Fair & Livestock Entry Requirements, with the following requirements: The care and feeding will be provided by the Yakima Valley Rabbit Breeders Association. The Central Washington State Fair is a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association. It will be governed and run under the latest revised rules and awards will be placed on all breeds of rabbits recognized by the standards of perfection of the American Rabbit Breeders Association Inc. nd Rabbits are accepted in the show room Thursday, September 22 after 2:00 PM, and must be in place by 7:00 PM. All entries in Fur Class, Wool Class, and Roaster Class must be entered in regular classes also. Rabbits entered in the show must be entered in the actual owner’s name. If owned in partnership, they must be entered as such. Substitutions will be allowed if in the same class, breed, sex and variety, provided notice is in the superintendent’s hands immediately upon the arrival of the entry stock in the show room nd and not later than 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 22 . Any animal showing symptoms of disease of any kind will not be allowed admittance in to the show room. All stock must have a permanent, legible earmark. There will be tattooing and a registrar available at the show for your convenience. Each exhibitor, family, or rabbitry will be limited to 40 rabbits. The greatest possible care will be given to all exhibits, but the management will not be responsible for any accident, mistake, loss, or damage that occurs. The specimens being entered are entered at the sole risk of the owner. The interpretation of the rules contained herein shall be invested in the show committee and management and their decision shall be final. No exhibits shall be removed from the show room without the written permission of the superintendents. Due to the lack of caging availability there will be no open class Cavies. Please enter information correctly on entries and be sure to include breed, variety, age, and tattoo numbers. Youth may crossover into the Open Department.

Must enter 10 classes per exhibitor before qualifying for five daily admission passes and one parking pass. All entries must be exhibited at the 2016 Fair. Entry fees must be added manually during the Online Entry process. JUDGE: Sarah Petersen LOCATION: Small Animal Barn rd th FIRST HALF: September 23 – 27 FIRST HALF RECEIVING: nd Thursday, September 22 , 2:00PM – 7:00pm. Animal must be in place by 7:00pm for Veterinarian Inspection. Animal entry through Gate 11. FIRST HALF RELEASING: th Tuesday, September 27 , beginning at 6:30pm. All livestock must be out of the barns by 10:00pm. th CHANGEOVER: Barns will be closed on Tuesday, September 27 @ 6:00pm; Banner line will go up at 6:00pm. To assure guest safety no access will be allowed in the livestock area once the banner line has been installed. We are hopeful that we may clear the barn and livestock areas of fairgoers by 6:00pm, at which time exhibitors may finish hauling their tack and decorations. Please do not dismantle any displays or decorations until 6:00pm. Once this procedure is completed, we will have a general release with an estimated release time of 6:30pm. Please keep in mind that this depends on getting the barn areas cleared of fairgoers in a timely fashion. You will be informed by your Superintendent of a definite release time once management (Livestock Administrator, Joe Niemann) feels it is safe for everyone. Long hauls will be given consideration for an earlier release if it is safe to do so. Gators and drivers will be available to assist you in hauling your tack and/or display items. Pre-Junior – Grades 1-2, ages 5-8.......................... $10.00 & Plaque Junior - Grades 3-5, ages 9-11 ................................ $10.00 & Plaque Intermediate - Grades 6-8, ages 12-14 ................ $10.00 & Plaque Senior - Grades 9-12, ages 15-19 ........................... $10.00 & Plaque st (19 if birthday is after January 1 of present year, or 20-21 with a current FFA or Association membership card)
Youth Rabbit Fitting & Showing Contest Contestants must fit and show their animals without their parent’s assistance. Superintendents will be responsible for the Fitting and Showing Contest in their respective area. Fitting and Showing is not mandatory.
Yakima Valley Rabbit Breeders Award Yakima Valley Rabbit Breeders and Yakima Coop will be offering awards for the best Educational Display and Posters. For further information, please contact a rabbit superintendent.
