We give back to the community by participating at: Football games, Christmas parades, local elementary school events, Jazz Band performances, Winter and Spring concerts, & other community events. Why do we fundraise for the Band program? Our current annual budget runs upwards of $50,000. The band program receives minimal funding from the Volusia County School District. It costs approximately $1,000 per student to be in band; we ask band families to pay $400, and we fundraise the rest. We do not turn away any student who cannot afford to pay- we offer scholarships to those who cannot afford the fees. We have to pay for: buses to travel to/from events such as Football games, required Marching Performance Assessment, competitions and performances. Sheet music for all instruments Event fees New instruments & instrument repairs Uniform cleaning & upkeep Trailer to transport equipment
UPCOMING EVENTS: The Jazz Band will be performing at McKenna’s in NSB on Nov. 26th at 6:30pm Our Annual Winter Concert is Tues. Dec. 14 @ NSBHS Look for the Band at the NSB and Edgewater Christmas Parades!
