I like running because every time I run I get faster and feel more active. It’s all about feeling good inside and out. At first it feels like running up the biggest mountain in the world, but if you push past that you discover a whole new world and never want to stop. By Zoe Sands, Room 8 Running makes me feel happy and awake. When I run, at first I feel tired like an old granny, then I feel energetic. Sometimes you have to push yourself your boundary and go over the edge. At first I fell like I am drowning to the bottom of the sea, but once I feel the energy I float back to the top. ENROLMENT ZONE It is Ministry of Education policy that once schools need more classrooms, an Enrolment Zone needs to be put in place so that the best use is made of their building stock. We are currently in this situation and so very soon you will see information about this in the local papers. It will not effect the children who already attend Ruakaka School – even if you currently don’t fit within the proposed zone. It will only effect new enrolments after the zone has been adopted. Please come and ask if you have any concerns. PRODUCTION All classes are busy practising for our production which will be held on Wednesday 20th September (matinee performance for those that this works better for) and Thursday 21st September evening performance. All children are involved in the production. Thank you to those of you who are helping with costumes and back drops etc. You are amazing.

Can we please have any lamb, calf and goat cups returned to the office before the 15th of September. ORGANISATION 2018 This is always a big job and so we are starting on our planning early. If your children will not be attending Ruakaka School or if you know of any new children or families coming to our school, please let us know. This is also the time for you to consider the bilingual option and there is a notice with this newsletter for you to fill out and return to school if you would like your child considered for bilingual. The number of classes available will depend on the number of children wanting to go into these classes.
