Profile Nicky DeFreece Emery has spent 15 years as an architectural historian in architecture and engineering firms, 11 years of which she has also worked as an architectural conservator. Her work has integrated adaptive reuse and preservation with sustainable building practices in major renovation projects, including significant contributions to the first National Register-listed public building to ever achieve LEED Platinum Certification. She is also currently pursuing architectural licensure through NCARB. Ms. Emery specializes in projects that take advantage of her expertise in architectural conservation, materials research, sustainability, historic preservation, and architectural design in the built environment.
