Emergency School Closing Information Dear Parents, Please be aware that the West Independent School District may at times close its facilities as a result of unusual or emergency situations. When such conditions exist, the Superintendent will make the final determination to close schools for a full day or part of a day, in consideration for the safety of students, parents, and staff. If it is necessary to close schools because of inclement (harsh, severe, stormy, snow, or ice) weather, a decision to do so will be made at the earliest possible time in order for the parents of school age children to make arrangements for their child’s care. District officials will notify the local television and radio stations listed below. Please watch/listen for announcements on any or all of these broadcasts during the early morning and/or evening hours when inclement weather conditions are present.
