Course Title: Business Core Course ACCN: TBC3010 Instructor: Mr. Joseph Ciccarelli Room: J2 Phone Number 4837300 ext. 374 Course Description: This course is designed for students who plan to pursue careers in business, and/or related occupations. Students will learn essential business concepts that will provide a solid foundation for further study in preparation for careers in business. problembased, realworld application of business concepts will be emphasized. Students will utilize technology for a variety of business applications and business communication; demonstrate effective customer service; and use accounting concepts to formulate, analyze and evaluate financial decisions in business. This course is a recommended prerequisite for students pursuing a business pathway program of study.
Use oral, written and nonverbal communication to effectively and positively express ideas, solve business problems and transfer business information. Evaluate the impact of internal and external systems on business organizations and business success. Analyze individual and group behaviors and their impact within business organization. Analyze the influence of technology on business. Evaluate and apply service excellence concepts and skills to internal and external customers. Use basic accounting principles to analyze and evaluate business decisions. Use basic financial principles to analyze and evaluate business financial decisions.

Instructional Delivery Plan: Instruction will be delivered by lectures, audiovisuals, demonstrations, group projects and presentations, and class activities/assignments.There is also group work and partner interaction. If students need help with anything then they are to ask questions during class or see teacher before school, after school or during wiki, or lunch.
Assessment Tools: All grades are based upon a point system. Points will be given accordingly for all class activities and assignments. Quarter grades are based on the total number of points accumulated. Semester grades will be the average of the quarter grades. Year grades will be the average of semester grades.
Attendance: Excused absences. When a student returns to class after an excused absence, he/she must bring in an excused slip from the office. Makeup assignments will only be provided for the students who have excused absences.
Classroom Management: 1. Be on time in assigned area. 2. Saftey 3. Treat others as you expect them to treat you. (Mutual Respect) 4. ListenAttentively. Follow directions. (Attentive Listening) 5. No swearing, rude gestures, teasing, etc. (No put Downs) 6. APPRECIATIONShow it, Realize it, Do it. 7. Follow all Chapter 19 rules and regulations. Consequences: 1st time verbal warning once applies to the whole class. 2nd time Teacher will give detention/disciplinary action. 3rd time Call home/detention/disciplinary action. 4th time All of the above and referral to V.P.
Homework Policy: Homework is assigned to help students increase their knowledge of subject matter. Written homework is not assigned daily. I have discussed and reviewed this handout with all of my students. I would appreciate it if you would review and discuss this handout with your child.
