Expatriate Qualified Teacher Package Academic Year 2019-20 School: BSN (Pamplona) Overview

BSN is offering an attractive package, in line with the high expectations we have of staff. We aim to ensure our staff is valued, motivated and well rewarded while working at the school.
The salary, as well as other payments, is based in Euro.
Gross Salary A fully qualified expatriate teacher will earn a Gross salary of 31 300 Euro, which under current levels of taxation equates to a Net salary of approximately 23 350 24 350 Euro* per academic year.
Relocation Allowance In their first year of employment, the employee will receive a relocation allowance of 700 Euro Gross, which under current levels of taxation equates to a Net amount of approximately 500 Euro*. The relocation allowance is payable with August salary and is a one-off payment not offered in subsequent years.
Retention Bonus Teachers who complete the employment contract, have performed satisfactorily throughout the year and re-sign the employment contract for an additional year will receive a retention bonus of 2 500 EUR Gross, which under current levels of taxation equates to a Net amount of approximately 1 860 - 1 910 EUR*. The retention bonus is payable in two equal instalments together with January and August (end of year) salary. The retention bonus is payable annually, for each additional year of employment at BSN.
Additional Responsibilities Additional responsibilities assumed by the employee and reflected in a Contract appendix will be compensated for separately. Each additional responsibility point is valued at 640 Euro Gross per year, equivalent to approximately 470 - 490 Euro Net under current levels of taxation*, payable as monthly pro-rata.
Health Insurance Employees and their contracted depends have full access to the state medical insurance. The state medical insurance in Spain is reliable, easy to access and comparable in quality to NHS.
Visas and Work Permit Employees holding a UK passport currently do not require a work permit. The school will assist the first year employees to register with the local authorities and to open a local bank account upon arrival. The school will provide the required information for other nationalities.

The school will deliver all payments into a local bank account on the last working day of the preceding month. The money can then be transferred abroad by the employee if so desired.
Contract BSN offers a one-year rolling contract. Staff are required to provide notice on whether they wish to continue to be employed at the school no later than the 16th of January preceding the end of the academic year. To comply with Spanish labour laws every employee is required to sign a Spanish contract in addition to the standard British Schools Foundation contract. The school will follow the contractual obligations stipulated in the British Schools Foundation contract in all work related matters.
Professional Development The British Schools Foundation places a big emphasis on staff developing professionally while working at the school; investing in training programmes and providing an allowance for teachers who take on additional responsibilities within the school. In addition, opportunities for promotion within the Foundation are open to staff who are considered to have made a significant contribution to school development.

be responsible for the cost of buses and uniforms. Bursaries are not provided for children attending any other schools. Bursaries for additional children cannot be granted without board approval.
The personal tax contribution consists of two parts: personal social security contribution of 6.35-6.4% and personal income tax as per the Personal Income Tax Table (“Tablas de retencion de IRPF de Navarra”).
