Case Study CLIENT OVERVIEW
Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD, founded in 1968, is the world’s second-largest cruise line with headquarters in Miami, Florida. They currently have 25 ships capable of serving close to 100,000 passengers.
SOLUTION
Our account, creative and B.Pro teams went to work. The account team worked on standardizing 30 recipes creating consistency in quality and brands. The creative team professionally photographed all drinks & glassware and created design elements for pointof-purchase materials. Next, the B.Pro team took over. They created an online portal that each ship could access with templates laying out the various design elements, recipes, drink names and descriptions, photography and price points. This allowed the ships ability to customize their programs by region or language while standardizing the look and recipes.
PROJECT CHALLENGE
Royal Caribbean ships featured a “Drink of the Day” keep-the-glass program. The individual ships determined recipes, took their own photos and created point-ofpurchase materials leading to a lack of consistency across the fleet. They challenged MarkeTeam to standardize this program across the fleet.
RESULTS
Upon implementation, the ships reported a significant increase in souvenir glassware sales with sales 4 to 5 times higher. Revenue was up 136% post implementation. The ships also reported that the ease of the B.Pro portal lead to less time spent for a higher quality product.
