Birthline of Loveland Newsletter
Save the world one life at a time By Matt Busch, Birthline of Loveland Board of Directors president
I
learned about a close friend of my sister who became pregnant at age 16. We had known her since she was 5. She was like a member of our family. She made the decision to continue attending high school, have her baby and put the child up for adoption rather than have an abortion. I admired her courage and reflected on the respect for life she showed by her decision. Our friend did not change the world or its attitude towards the unborn, but she did save a life. I think most of us have at least one memory of an event or time in our lives that formed strong feelings about the unborn. Growing up in

he excitement is building at Birthline of Loveland as its services expand when it moves in early November. It will join several nonprofit agencies offering essential services in the new Loveland Community Life Center, 1511 E. 11th Street. This is an unparalleled opportunity that will make Birthline’s services more visible and available to those in need. Birthline has a long list of items needed for the new facility. If you can help, please call (970) 663-2671 or visit friendsofbirthline.org and adopt an item or two.

Prayer Corner
Birthline grateful for ‘Dancing’ benefit
For the new soldiers in the battle against abortion, we pray to the Lord. Dear Lord Jesus, help us to counsel the doubtful, those who want to be involved in the prolife movement but do not believe their small efforts matter. Show them, Lord, that you are the Almighty, Omnipotent Creator who will use all actions for good. Instill in them the love of a courageous servant, for even in our imperfections, your perfect love for us creates miracles. Amen. Show you like us on

The automobile dealerships at the Motorplex at Centerra sponsored a successful street dance on the evening of June 7 to benefit Birthline and the House of Neighborly Service. We are grateful for their generosity and compassion for the unborn and for Joe Gebhardt’s leadership in working on this fun event.

Birthline receives 5 percent of all reloads. … Event from page 1 the ’60s and ’70s, I vividly recall the free love and feminist movements, Roe v. Wade and the attitude in our country that a human embryo was, in many cases, an unwanted inconvenience. This never seemed right to me, but what could I ever do about it? But that one event occurred for me while away at college. As a board member of Birthline of Loveland, I know I am not going to change the attitudes in our country regarding abortion. However, on a smaller scale, I know that I am a member of an organization dedicated to saving lives of the most vulnerable in our community. I feel blessed to be a small part of that mission. I get to share the joy with fellow board members, staff and volunteers of Birthline when we celebrate a young mother we've helped to make the decision to keep her baby. It doesn't get any better than that. If you feel called to support these young, vulnerable and courageous women and help them to make the decision to have and not abort their babies, please consider applying to serve on the Birthline Board of Directors. Your efforts will be returned to you one hundredfold.

Director’s Letter by Dee Holt Birthline is STRETCHING and GROWING in ways only God foreknew and your help is so important. Please pray over Birthline and, if the Lord touches your heart to come forward, we would love to hear from you. Here are a couple areas of need as we prepare to move into our new facility and the needs become greater than ever. Our God is bringing more Spanish speaking clients to our doors for help and we love them to our fullest, but we need assistance to communicate about their needs. If you are bilingual, have a heart for mommies and babies and would like to help us once a week or every other week, please contact me at the office by phone or email. Another need is to offer a class to our mothers on fetal development and all that God is doing as He creates this new life. God bless you all for your service!
Birthline extends gratitude to contributors Birthline of Loveland continues to rejoice in the blessing of so many in the community who have given gifts, funds and services: •
Many donors have supported Birthline for well over a decade with monthly, quarterly or that one time gift at the end of the year.
•
St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Faith Evangelical Church provided financial contributions.
•
The Hattitudes sponsored a baby shower for Birthline.
•
Joe and Frederique Grim are finishing their terms on the board. Joe was instrumental in establishing and maintaining Birthline’s first website as well as assisting in many other ways. Frederique raised funds and co-
ordinated the Run for Orphans sponsorships for two years. •
The many sponsors and runners at the May 10 Run for Orphans made the event a success.
•
Volunteer GeorgeAnn Smith has been faithful and loving to every client who has come to Birthline over the years. She has volunteered since 2007 and is now moving to Texas to live near her two new grandbabies. She will be missed by everyone.
•
We were again touched and honored this year by an anonymous contribution.
We thank these generous individuals and donors for having a heart for the unborn and taking action to help them.
Volunteers step up, but more needed Birthline welcomes new volunteers Aiesha, Krista and Mary who have answered God’s calling to share their love at Birthline. Birthline still needs more volunteers to work with clients with unplanned and crisis pregnancies, or to work in the clothing room or reception area. Would you like to become an advocate and help clients with life-saving options for the babies, provide referrals, assist with maternity and baby needs? Both men and women who have a heart for the unborn are needed to work in the office for a 3- hour shift weekly. Call Dee at (970) 663-2671.
