Artist in Residence Program
South Hill Yellow House Artist in Residence Program (SHYHAIRP) aims to foster opportunities for creative artists in a unique, inspiring setting.
On the grounds of the heritage-listed South Hill property there are studios and shared accommodation for up to three visiting artists, as well as a commercial gallery that has been operating for four years. South Hill Gallery holds a large collection of works by the late Martin Sharp, patron of the gallery. Curator Cherry Hood has maintained an engaging exhibition schedule throughout the year that includes the best of emerging and established Australian and international artists.
The SHYH is seeking artist proposals for stays from 2-6 weeks in duration. Selected artists will be provided with a bedroom with shared facilities, a separate shared studio, and access to the 80 acres of beautiful grounds at South Hill. The studios at South Hill are appropriate for any creative practice, with dedicated spaces for painting and drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and screen printing.
The South Hill Yellow House Artists in Residence Program is open to Australian visual artists, curators and arts writers. International artists are encouraged to apply. Collaborative proposals will be considered. One person should apply on behalf of all applicants.
