College of Humanities and Social Sciences Upcoming Events
Dear Alumni, As I write to you on the last day of classes, I find it difficult to believe that another semester has come and gone. I know you will remember the days of studying for exams before hurrying home for a well-deserved winter break. Our faculty are also busy with exams, papers, and getting grades reported. Winter break begins in a week; I think we will all be ready! We just celebrated the annual Mary Roper Awards here at the college. These awards recognize the contributions of our administrative staff members and the huge contributions they make. You can check out the book here and at the Mason bookstore.
One of our faculty members, Eskil Ullberg, recently represented the college and the university before the United Nations, at a panel entitled “Science, Technology, and Innovation for Development.” More than 100 nations were represented at the Nov. 16 panel where Ullberg, a visiting research scholar in Mason’s Interdisciplinary Center for Economic Sciences (ICES) and a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Economics, addressed the levels of infusion of technology into developing countries. The Patriots’ season is off to a strong start and this promises to be an exciting evening. Doc Nix, director of the famous Green Machine, will be in the pregame crowd, and there will be a great opportunity to enjoy food and drink with your family and friends (and maybe win some prizes!). I hope you are planning to make it. To register click here.
