2018-2019 Senior Parking Information Attached are the application and rules for Seniors during the 2018-2019 school year. Day 1~ August 9th: Seniors with an UNWEIGHTED GPA of 3.0 to 4.0 will be permitted on campus after 2:00PM on Thursday, August 9th. Seniors may ONLY park in parking lot next to the baseball field at the end of Dudley Road, or on Dudley Road next to the canal. Do not park in the front parking lot or the senior parking lot- those parking spots are reserved for staff and district personnel. Seniors must wait in an orderly line until the cafeteria doors open, at which time students will be seated inside the cafeteria. Parking decals will go on sale at 3:00PM; Seniors in line by 4:30PM will have their application processed. Parents, friends, siblings, or other individuals may not purchase a decal for a Senior- the Senior must be present to purchase a decal. The 2018-2019 decals will be placed on approved vehicles after the paperwork is verified and payment is made – please ensure that old decals are completely removed/ scraped off. Seniors must print the parking application and 2 page rules - read everything carefully, fill it out in its entirety, initial appropriate places, sign appropriate areas, and have parent / guardian sign appropriate areas. Seniors must bring a copy of their current Florida driver’s license, a copy of the vehicle’s insurance, and a copy of vehicle’s registration (can be copied all on one page) - copy machines will not be available at the school. Obligations will be checked (including textbooks) and all obligations must be satisfied in full, prior to purchasing a Senior decal. Obligations can be satisfied in the main office. Please note, obligations cannot be cleared after 2:00PM on the day of decal sales. If all of the above stated requirements are fulfilled, students will be permitted to purchase a decal with cash or check made payable to Cooper City High School for $60. Day 2~ August 10th: Seniors with an UNWEIGHTED GPA of 2.0 to 4.0 will be permitted on campus at 2:00PM on Friday, August 10th. Please follow the guidelines stated above. Painting Day(s) ~August 13th & 14th: Seniors who purchased a decal and received a numbered space (1-142) have the option to decorate the assigned bumper. Guidelines must be printed, signed, and turned into administration prior to decorating. Guidelines may be turned in at time of decal purchases along with payment. Please note this is a separate payment ($20) from the decal ($60).
Obligations must be cleared prior to purchasing a decal. Obligations can be satisfied in the main office Wednesday August 8th through Friday, August 10th from 8:00AM until 2:00PM. Seniors that cannot attend either session, Thursday or Friday can bring their completed packets to the Student Affairs Office beginning Wednesday August 15th. o However, students without a 2018-2019 student decal will NOT be permitted to park on campus.

The person registering the car at CCHS is the only person permitted to operate said vehicle on school grounds. Friends, classmates, or family members are NOT permitted to drive the permitted vehicle on campus to park, from 7:00am to 3:00pm.

Vehicles operated on school grounds must be in safe operating condition. School personnel may deem vehicles unsafe.

Only students with satisfactory behavior will be permitted to purchase and keep a student decal. If a student’s behavior (Code of Conduct) becomes unsatisfactory after repeated violations the decal will be revoked. Suspensions, and/or repeated unsatisfactory behavior will result in loss of parking privileges.

Leaving school without permission or your vehicle being used by others to break school rules (sneaking students off campus) will result in disciplinary actions including revocation of the Parking Permit.

ATTENDANCE: A student decal will be revoked for excessive tardies to school (6 or more within a 9-week period). Excessive absences in a 45 day period will result in disciplinary actions as well as the Parking Permit being revoked (36 or more hours within a 9-week period).

Student parking is restricted to the designated student parking lot and space number. Students are expected to follow all traffic patterns and posted signage. You may not give permission to others to park in your parking spot when you are absent.

Students may not park in the staff parking lot at any time. A students’ decal will be revoked for parking in unauthorized parking areas, such as; staff spots, Handicap spots, other student spots, vacant parking spots, fire lanes, and/or double parking.

Student vehicles on campus are subject to search for reasonable suspicion. Weapons, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, lighters, and other contraband outlined by the Code of Conduct are not permitted on campus at any time. The display of offensive flags, bumper stickers, words, or other materials on a vehicle is prohibited. Violations of any of the aforesaid will result in: disciplinary action, loss of decal and authorities may be notified.

Students are not permitted to remain in their cars or in the parking lot after arriving on campus. Once a student is on school grounds the only way he/she may leave campus is by following the sign-out procedure. Students may not enter the parking area at any time during the school day, without an administrator’s approval. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in loss of parking decal.

Motorcycles must be parked in the designated area. A student parking decal must be displayed. Students driving a motorcycle must wear a helmet while on campus.

Failure to abide by the established traffic patterns, failure to abide by the posted speed limits (5 MPH), and /or careless or unsafe operation of a vehicle (spinning tires, revving engines, etc.) will be grounds to revoke and/or deny parking privileges. Students must STOP at all stop signs and stop bars painted on the ground and at all Intersections on campus or their decal will be revoked.

Students must have original CCHS decal properly displayed in the lower driver side corner of the windshield and CCHS rear sticker displayed in lower driver side rear window. Temporary parking passes must be affixed to rear view mirror or properly placed on the dash board (driver’s side) with their information facing out.

Students who already have a parking decal and need to drive a different vehicle temporarily must obtain a temporary decal. Bring in the registration and the insurance card to the Main Office in order to receive a temporary decal. Arrive early that day.

Students who change vehicles must notify the school prior to receiving a new decal. Students must bring in the new vehicle registration, insurance card, and application in order to receive a new decal. Old decals must be scraped off and turned in prior to receiving a new decal. If the old decal is not brought in, a new decal may not be available. A replacement decal (with scraped off old decal) is $10.00.

Student drivers are NOT permitted to use a cell phone while operating a vehicle on the campus of CCHS. Texting, talking, or the use of social media applications is prohibited because it distracts the driver and creates an unsafe environment.

Failure to abide by any of the above rules will suspend your parking privilege for the remainder of the school year. Once a parking decal is revoked for breaking the above rules and or guidelines- the student will not be permitted to park on campus for the remainder of the school year.

Each original student parking decal is $60.00, replacement decals are $10.00. Every student will be assigned a parking decal that can only be used by them and the decaled vehicle.
