WE ARE CORE Rockwood and Nansen
We are CORE Introduction An Introduction from Adrian Packer, CEO, CORE Education Trust This 3 Year Development Plan for the CORE Education Trust is designed to work alongside and complement the Trust’s Statements of Action and the individual School Development Plans for both Rockwood Academy and Nansen Primary School. Although the plan sets out a 3 Year vision mapped to clearly defined KPIs, there is a deliberate emphasis on Year 1 priorities to reflect the urgency of removing the Schools from Special Measures during the first year of the plan. It is therefore structured in such a way to ensure that the Board of Directors has an active role in the development of the Trust and its Schools and that the responsibilities of individual Directors are explicit at this critically important time. 2015-16 will be a defining year for the Trust and our Schools. This plan is live from September 1st 2015 and is, for the most part, inspired by our CORE Values: Collaboration; Opportunity; Respect; Excellence. The CORE Education Trust was founded on 24th March 2015. Its inception was inspired by the vision of a small group of people who took charge of the former sponsor, the Park View Educational Trust (PVET) in July 2014. In a short period of time, there have been many positive developments. This plan builds on that progress and sets out a bold and uncompromising vision as a statement of intent to which the Trust expects its Schools to respond dynamically to. Evaluation of progress will be regular and in-depth. The Trust will adopt an unapologetic hands-on, solution-focused approach but will give Schools the capacity to be self-reliant and efficient in their own right. Rockwood Academy managed to secure an excellent set of GCSE results in its first year under the guidance of CORE Education Trust despite unprecedented levels of disruption and distraction. Nansen Primary School ended the same year in a more stable and secure position with a positive outcome to Ofsted’s 4th Monitoring Inspection. These achievements are testament to the efforts and resilience of School and Trust staff and the dedication and commitment of Members, Directors and Governors. However, the Trust is not complacent. It will continue to support and challenge the Schools to progress and develop and will be uncompromising in its pursuit to make rapid and sustained improvements. The content of this plan is the result of a planning workshop involving Members and Directors at the end of 2014-15 academic year. It therefore represents a collective and shared vision of the main strategic stakeholders. At the heart of all our planning is our universally expressed priority that children always come first. Every ambition we have and all the plans set out in this document are informed by that sentiment.

THE LOCAL SOLUTION VISION Rockwood and Nansen
A Three Year Vision: September 2015 – August 2018 The Local Solution Vision It is stated in the March 2015 DfE approved proposal for local solution sponsorship that the CORE Education Trust will: • Collaboration • Opportunity • Respect • Excellence It is intended that the CORE Education Trust Schools will embed the four CORE Values in everything they do. The Trust will expect these values to support an emphasis on the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of children and allow for a celebration of diversity and a promotion of modern British values. The CORE Education Trust Schools will be centres of excellence in education and enterprise, provide vibrant community resources and become a focal point to enhance the social infrastructure of the local areas and communities they serve. Each CORE Education Trust School will be expected to set out how it promotes the CORE Values in its specific local context. This will effectively provide each School with its own Mission Statement and inform individual Development and Improvement Plans.
Development Plan 2015 - 2018
Provide children with a high quality educational experience realised through a collective commitment to its four CORE Values:
