All school rules apply (check your planner for these rules). The teacher dismisses the class, not the bell. Tests and quizzes must be completed in pencil. Each student receives 3 bathroom passes quarterly. Ask at an appropriate time to use the pass. Any unused, intact, passes will be bought back on the last class day for extra credit. o It is your responsibility to make arrangements to get your tickets turned in on the last day of the quarter. Each chapter test, except the last chapter of the semester, may have an optional re-test. o Both scores will be recorded and averaged for your grade. o Re-tests generally have 3 class days in which to be accomplished. Re-tests must be made up outside of normal class time (i.e. before or after school or during lunch). It is your responsibility to make whatever arrangements are necessary to take the re-test in the time allowed. Force Majure events (snow days, earthquakes, fire drills, illnesses, et al) do not extend the allowable time.

Scores will be recorded into Aeries (computer grade book) in three categories: participation, quizzes and tests on a 10/20/70 basis. This means participation is worth 10%, quizzes are worth 20% and tests are worth 70% of your semester grade. o Please note you should never earn anything less than 100% in the participation category. You receive the answers before your work is collected and extra credit is recorded in this category. The Final Exam is cumulative and worth two chapter tests. Grades are posted in Aeries frequently. Promptly let me know if you believe there is an error.
Please ask about your individual grades outside of class time. Any student with 15 unexcused absences during a semester will earn an “F” for the semester.
Makeup/Late Work For excused absences you have 2 days for each missed day to make-up participation work (i.e. homework and warm-ups) for full credit. Late work is worth a maximum of half credit. Tests and quizzes may be made up outside of class time throughout the semester however they must be completed before May 26th 2016 (the Thursday of the week before THS final exams). You may not make up work, including tests and quizzes, for unexcused absences. Tests and quizzes may be made up in room 914 before school, after school, or during lunch. It is your responsibility to coordinate the time. I will not pursue you about your missing work, missed work can be identified on the grade postings.
Happy Faces Each period may have the opportunity to make the Happy Face “deal” which is “When in Geometry, Do Geometry”. If the class unanimously elects to enter into this deal then here is how it works: At the start of each unit (chapter) each period begins with a Happy Face ☺. If at any time any student is not doing Geometry then there is a face drop (☺ → → ). When the chapter test occurs the class is rewarded as follows: ☺ = One non-proof skip on the test and a 75% chance for a free notebook. = One non-proof skip on the test. = No special treatment.
