Overview Kabuto Noodles (www.kabutonoodles.com) make the finest instant noodles in the world. Launched in Jan 2011 Kabuto are currently on sale in good quality independents, Ocado, Waitrose & Sainsbury’s stores across the UK. Kabuto are also on sale in the Republic of Ireland, Holland & Russia. We’ve grown fast & want to continue to do so!
The Role We’ve spent the last 18 months concentrating on getting our noodles onto the shelves of shops across the country. We’ve also laid the foundations for a brand with real character. From a standing start, we’ve grown from making 15,000 units every 3 – 4 months to making a projected 165,000 units in December 2012, spread across 3 SKU’s. As the size of the business grows, we have a need for someone to manage our supply chain, and ensure that we have perfect availability with our retail customers whilst helping to manage our purchases to best support our cash-flow. We are also adding a further 2 SKU’s to our range in March, which will further increase the volume & complexity of our supply chain. The role would require work with sales & marketing to ensure that forecasts are factored into supply chain requirements, and then work with our suppliers to make sure they can fulfil our needs, and that we can fit with their lead times.
The Person We’re looking for someone who’s both a creative thinker & a doer - this is a hands on role! You’ll have a passion for logistics, and will aim for the very highest levels of fulfilment – without product to sell we have no business!
You’ll be able to work in a team to understand what’s coming up for the business & it’s impact on supply chain & then have the oomph to be able to deliver on it. You’ll be analytical & able to see what’s working & optimise on it, whilst discarding things that don’t work. You’ll be entrepreneurial in identifying opportunities & seizing them. You’ll be able to work with suppliers to get the best out of them You’ll be able to identify areas of weakness, and be proactive in trying to improve them & put in place contingency plans.
Experience This is a key role for Kabuto & does require a demonstrable understanding of supply chain & logistics processes, issues & best practices.
Package The salary for this role is £20 – 25k depending on experience.
Location Kabuto is based in Bristol. There would be times when you’d need to travel to see suppliers etc…
