COMPANY BIOS Playwright Matthew Heiti Born in Sudbury, Matthew holds a BFA in Acting from Ryerson University and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of New Brunswick. He is an award-winning playwright, a Genie-nominated screenwriter, and his first novel, The City Still Breathing, is published by Coach House Books. His play about teen mental health, Black Dog: 4 vs the wrld is published by Playwrights Canada Press. His plays have been workshopped across the country and produced at various festivals including SummerWorks (The Nick Drake Project), Lunchbox Theatre (Aviatrix), Sudbury Theatre Centre (Mucking in the Drift), and Crestfallen (Plague). At STC, Matthew created and ran the Playwrights’ Junction, a workshop for developing writers, for 5 years. He currently serves as Playwright-in-residence with Pat the Dog Theatre Creation, with whom he coordinates PlaySmelter, a festival of new play readings from Northern Ontario writers He creates new work in strange places with Crestfallen. Actor Michael Boyce Michael is from Sudbury, Ontario. He is a recent graduate of George Brown’s Classical Theatre program. At George Brown: Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Feraillon in A Flea in Her Ear, Prince Ronald in Munsch-o-Mania, and Voynitsev in Chekhov’s Platonov. Elsewhere: Ernst in Spring Awakening, Motel in Fiddler on the Roof, Mark in Rent (YES Theatre), ‘3’ in Black Dog: 4 vs the wrld and the Boy in the Velveteen Rabbit (Sudbury Theatre Centre). Actor Morgan St. Onge Hailing proudly from Sudbury, ON, Morgan is a multidisciplinary artist and recent graduate of George Brown Theatre School. Professional credits: Two in the world premiere and revival of Black Dog: 4 vs. the World (Sudbury Theatre Centre), Thea in Muskeg and Money (North Road Theatre). At George Brown: Puck (Midsummer Night’s Dream), Ensemble (The Penelopiad), Edith Harris (Cavalcade). She has also been working with Pat the Dog Theatre Creation on the Playsmelter festival since 2013. She is also performing in Meant (Under Pressure Productions) for the Toronto Fringe this year. Musician/Actor Lucy Meanwell Hailing from Toronto, Lucy attended a year of the University of Windsor’s BFA - Acting program before continuing her training at George Brown Theatre. Credits at George Brown include Cavalcade, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, and Munsch-O-Mania. She cocreated Knots which ran at the 2016 Toronto Fringe and had a reprise at the One More Night Festival. When she’s not acting (and sometimes when she is) Lucy dabbles in poetry, unicycling, and juggling. In the new year, she’s looking forward to playing Oliver in As You Like It and Starveling in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at George Brown. Dancer/Actor Will.
