PIETON Spray system
Pieton Spray System from Van der Ende Groep. Initially designed for roses to spray for spider mites, the Pieton Spray System uses not only liquids, but a unique patented combination of liquids with compressed air. By doing this, the droplet reaches higher speeds, at lower pressures. This results in a deeper penetration within the crop, while keeping the air movement to a minimum, thus greatly helping each and every plant. The Pieton Spraying System works extremely well in mobile growing systems and is built up of three different components - the spray boom, the transport equipment, and the distinctive twinhose system.
through the extended distance and angle on the horizontal spray boom, while the precise placement of the nozzles stops the sprays from interfering with one another. This creative design, along with the air/liquid mixture means that everything, including the bottom of the leaves, will be hit properly. Also found on the spray boom is the mixing unit, where the air is added to the liquid. These chambers, which are adjustable per section, can be opened and closed and take care of the optimum air/liquid mixture in order to reach the ideal droplet size.
Spray boom
A beneficial aspect of the Pieton Spray System is its adaptability to almost any type of greenhouse set up. For example, the mixing unit and spray boom (mounted on a spray robot) can quite easily be set up on a pipe rail cart, while the horizontal spray booms can travel along the monorail pipes. If desired, the Pieton Spray System can even be integrated in a mobile transport system. External signals from the mobile system will be sent and received by a control panel, which is provided along with the system.

The versatile spray boom comes equipped with different adjustable nozzles, allowing for simplistic transitions of the spray between higher crops, such as roses, and lower ones. You should use the different nozzles depending on the placement of the plant in order to obtain optimum spray results. The nozzle with the larger spray angle should be used to cover the easier areas, while proper penetration could be attainable in the more difficult areas with the smaller nozzle. Proper spray solution distribution is achieved
Transport system
Twin-hose
In order to keep an organized arrangement, only one special hose is used in the Pieton Spray System. This special hose however, is actually two hoses welded together. The liquid and air travels separately through the mixing unit. This way, the different transport systems can be conveniently and continually supplied with the air/liquid combination.
does not matter whether you use a manual cart with wheels, a pipe cart or a monorail cart. By using the twin-hose system, you can always count on a liquid and air supply without any problems. Also, the Pieton Spray System can be customized to spray in all types of crops and transport equipment.
Advantages
Models
o Noticeably Effective Spray Due to the deep penetration of the spray, the solution coverage reaches even to the bottom of the leaves. o Less Spraying Due to the effectiveness of the spray, there is a longer time interval before the process needs to be repeated. o Savings on Crop Protection Products The blending of air and liquid not only gives crops a more effective spray, but it also requires less liquids. This means that you will achieve some fair sized savings on your crop protection products. Depending on the way you spray currently, savings will vary. o Easy connection on existing pumps and air compressors The Pieton Spray System has been developed in such a way, that we are able to mount it on your already existing air compressors/pump. In most cases, a high pressure pump with capacity of 35 L/min (9.2 GPH) and a pressure of 50 bar (approx. 700 pounds) is sufficient. For the air, a compressor of 1000 L/min (263.96 GPH) and a pressure of 10 bar is needed. o Can be used on any existing transport systems. The Pieton Spray System can be mounted on every transport system in the horticultural industry. It

Pieton Spray System which is built on a pipe rail or manual cart up to 70 meters (230 feet), with the twin-hose mechanism used in an electric hose reel on wheels, or mounted on a cart. Pieton Spray System set up onto an electric pipe rail cart, up to 120 meters (394 feet). The twin- hose is then mounted on pipe rail cart. Pieton Spray System mounted on a METO auto pipe rail cart, up to 120 meters (394 feet). In this case, the twin-hose hose reel is mounted on the METO as well. Pieton Spray System integrated in a mobile crop system complete with a control panel.
Liquid use The liquid use depends on both the speed and pressure difference of the liquid and air pressure (see graph on next page) For example: 1f the liquid

pressure is 10 bar and air pressure is 7 bar, the total pressure difference will be (10 - 7) 3 bar. This results in a spray usage of 1.25 L/min. Notice though, that with a liquid pressure of 8 bar, and air pressure of 5 bar, you will still get a pressure difference of 3 bar, and once again your average spray usage will be 1.25 L/min. The real difference lies in the fact that with the
lower air/liquid pressure, each droplet with receive less energy, therefore the crop penetration will also be less.
