Outreach Specialist II The Youth Center on Highland Children Youth & Family Services Program Supervisor $12.31 per hour 100%, Non-Exempt, Union 90 days Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program, 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan
Job Summary: Assist and coordinate all aspects of outreach as a member of the Youth Center on Highland Outreach Team. Responsible for conducting street outreach and other activities aimed at disseminating information and connecting youth with services within the service delivery network of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
Essential Functions: 1) Conduct street outreach throughout L.A. County including West Hollywood to homeless or at-risk LGBT youth; 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8)
Participate and coordinate social outreach events at the Youth Center on Highland and other appropriate venues; Provide LGBT sensitive training to providers and youth; Assist in the marketing of all programs and outreach efforts; Prepare monthly and quarterly reports as required by funder and program supervisors; Collaborate and attend meetings with HHYP agencies; Transport clients to housing and during events; Participate in all staff meetings.
Additional Responsibilities 1) Other duties as assigned; 2) Required to work evenings and some weekends.
Job Qualifications and Experience: 1 –2 years’ experience with outreach, social services or related field; Experience working with youth; Experience working with homeless population and in particular, youth; Sensitivity to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender issues; Good computer skills and knowledge including word processing, spreadsheets and database operations; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with women and men of diverse backgrounds including sexual orientation, gender identity race, ethnicity and age; 7) Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; 8) B.A or equivalent education and training. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6)

Current CPR Certificate; Current TB negative test results (within 15 days of hire); Valid California Driver’s license and clean DMV record (ability to obtain insurance); Fingerprint-verified criminal record check.
