ORGANIZING INTERNSHIP ILLINOIS OFFICE
We’re building a generation of civic actors capable of and committed to filling the ideas gap in communities across the country in the pursuit of pragmatic, progressive policy change.
Join us! The Roosevelt Institute | Campus Network seeks two innovative and hard-working individuals to help grow our network in Illinois. Working closely with the Roosevelt Institute | Campus Network Illinois Director as well as the student-run Midwest Regional Team, the Organizing Interns will help Roosevelt grow at colleges and universities across the state by building relationships on campuses and sharing information about Roosevelt programs and how to start chapters. The Campus Network has opened a local office in Chicago focused on providing programming support and local opportunities to participating students in Illinois. Students are our network’s best ambassadors. We’re looking to you to help spread the word about Roosevelt programs designed to give undergraduate students hands-on experience in shaping progressive public policy. Gain experience in campus and community organizing by working closely with the Illinois director and other Campus Network national staff to reach out to four-year universities and community colleges across the state of Illinois. You’ll gain experience in presenting to public policy classes, professors, and administrators, as well as students and student groups. Outreach work will be focused on Roosevelt’s major programs and Illinois-specific programs including but not limited to NextGen Illinois, Summer Academy, the 10 Ideas journal series, and Rethinking Communities. This is an ideal opportunity for freshman and sophomore students interested in public policy and community organizing. Work with a team and on your own campus to create
and execute outreach plans that help the Campus Network grow and further progressive values. What does it mean to join our community of policy thinkers, organizers, and leaders? We’re committed to the Rooseveltian way – progressive values, creative ideas, and bold action. We’re invested in building a community of smart, engaged individuals able to drive all three.
