Chem Club Sponsor: Patrice Henderson and Norma Kealy 9th-12th Grades Open to all Chem Club gives high school students a unique opportunity to experience chemistry beyond the classroom. Engaging in activities help students in their understanding of chemistry. There is also involvement with the surrounding community to enhance a better appreciation how chemistry plays a role in our everyday lives.

Diamond Girls Sponsor: 9th-12th Grades Application process The purpose of the club is to build school spirit and support for the NBH Baseball team and increase student involvement.
Drama Club Sponsor: Chantelle Normand 6th-12th Grade Open to all This year we will participate in the District One Thespian Festival in January, and we will be helping with the musical in the Spring
Environmental Science Club Sponsor: Kathleen Outlaw 9th-12th Grades Open to all Those interested in learning about and helping with environmental science concerns and learning about various careers in the field. We are currently training for the county Envirothon. Last year we had three teams entered into the Emerald Coast Envirothon and we took 1st, 2nd, and 4th places. Our first place team represented Bay District at the Florida State Envirothon and finished 2nd by a narrow margin. When we begin meeting as an organization in the winter, we will meet after school for one hour. This typically begins in January. Interested student participants for Envirothon receive training during the Fall semester. If students are interested in agronomy, pedology, forestry, aquatic science, or ecology then see Mrs. Outlaw (room 209) about participation on a team for the upcoming Envirothon.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes….and Fans (FCA) Sponsor: Debbie Funkhouser 9th-12th Grades Open to all The mission of FCA is to present coaches, athletes, and fans, the challenge and adventure of receiving Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship with each other. This club is student-centered and student-led. We meet every Friday at lunchtime in the band room. Student leaders prepare the message, speaker, or game for each week.
Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) Sponsor: Mary Ellen Pozen 6th-12th Grades Open to all that desire or have interest in health careers HOSA promotes health career awareness and discovery through goals of National HOSA organization. Students participate in National Service project, learn and explore careers through competition at Region, State and National levels. In 2014-15, 36 students participated at State competition in Orlando and 7 qualified for Nationals. Two placed in the top 10 (2nd and 7th in nation). Students can learn dental, veterinary, nursing, medical and emergency skills.

Latin Club Sponsor: Jennifer Cyr 7th-12th Grades Must be enrolled in or have already taken Latin, Greek, or a related class (such as mythology or Roman/Greek civilization class). Dues are $15. Latin club's main focus is competing at the regional and state level. Students choose a topic of interest relating to the ancient Roman and Greek world and take multiple choice tests and create projects centering around that topic. Students also participate in fundraisers. Members get a spirit shirt each year.

National Beta Club Sponsor: Ellis Thomas 10th-12th Grades 3.0 GPA Must fill out application Must volunteer at least 8 hours a year National Beta Club is a National High School Academic and Leadership Honor Society created to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership.
National Honor Society Sponsor: Carolyn Gomillion 10th-12th Grades, Induction is held in the Spring.
Requirements to be in the club (GPA, application, references, etc.): a. To be eligible for selection to membership in this chapter, the candidate must have been in attendance for a period of two quarters at North Bay Haven Charter Academy. b. Candidates eligible for selection to the chapter must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75 weighted GPA or 3.5 unweighted GPA. c. After meeting the grade level, attendance, and GPA standard requirements, candidates are then be considered based on their service, leadership, and character. The purpose of National Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of North Bay Haven Charter Academy.
National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Sponsor: Mary Ellen Pozen 10th-12th Grades 3.0 weighted GPA overall and 3.5 in CTE courses, Application in Fall, and Teacher recommendations NTHS is an honor society recognizing outstanding achievement in career and technical classes. There are specific courses that must be taken for consideration for membership bases on the career academy of choice. Completion the entire state based track required for honor cords.
Paintball Club Sponsor: Heather Bird 6th-12th Grades No ISS/OSS. If they have behavior issues, they must have teacher signatures and the board will review their current behavior prior to admittance. NBH Paintball club is lots of fun. We work on character building, leadership, sportsmanship, and manners. We meet once a month in our teams (currently we have 5: 2 HS and 3 MS) and discuss strategy, teamwork, and safety. The team will be playing against Holy Nativity at upcoming games.

Sailing Club Sponsor: Lucie Larkins 9th-12th Grades Pay fee to join (around $300 for half year, $600 for full year- fall/spring seasons, excluding costs associated with competitions) Any high school students in good standing may apply to join the NBH sailing team, in cooperation with St Andrews Bay Yacht Club. Practices are typically held twice a week with occasional competitions and trainings on weekends. The Sailing Club is relatively new to NBH, however members have had a great deal of success in a short period of time, recently placing in regional competitions. Complete beginners to advanced sailors welcome. All seasons begin with classroom training time before practicing on the water. All students interested should be strong swimmers. Come and join us!
Speech and Debate Sponsor: Laurie Herring 9th-12th Grades No GPA requirements Speech and Debate is a challenging club; competitive in nature, requiring regular practice, coaching, dedication, and hard work. Speech involves a presentation by one, two, or sometimes a group of students judged against a similar type of presentation by others in a round of competition. Speech events range from limited preparation events that require extensive knowledge of current events to dramatic and humorous interpretation, which challenge students to find powerful moments in literature and recreate them for an audience. Debate involves an individual or a team of debaters working to effectively convince a judge that his or her side of a resolution is, as a general principle, more valid. Students in debate come to thoroughly understand both sides of the resolution, having researched each extensively, and learn to think critically about every argument that could be made on each side.

Spanish Club Sponsor: Heather Bird 6th-8th Grades Open to all, no requirements - Spanish speaking is preferred We talk about culture and traditions. Currently we are making piñatas and will be doing another project in the Spring. Some items that have been discussed are dancing, history, and skits.

It is the overall goal to meet the changing needs of our school and students in the 21st century.
