1. Visitor feedback a. Advocate for girls’, boys’ and mixed YCC teams (Marlee Cobb, Duncan Fitzgerald & Maddy Boyle) o Want to have 3 teams for next year’s YCC b. How to improve YCC teams (Jake Rathjens) o Financial commitment from WAFC 1. Estimate cost is $800 per player to participate 2. Help coaches by paying for USA Ultimate certification o Earlier tryouts 1. Start in April 2. More time for teams to form and practice o 2 practices a week 1. One field a week commitment from WAFC 2. Leagues a. Fall league o Clique league 1. Held first captains meeting a. Julie will email all commissioners to distribute emergency procedures and concussion policy documents 2. Chris will distribute leftover discs at the tournament o Rec league 1. Jersey issues – need to clarify design rules b. Winter league o Indoor league 1. Jenny Murphy-Lubowicz will organize 2. Jenny emailed Events DC about the Armory o Dimitry is looking into organizing a lower level clinic or hat tournament c. Summer league o Advanced league debrief
1. Mixed 6 vs 6, 3 men: 3 women league a. Generally positive verbal feedback from women players b. Mixed review from survey – issue with numbers, game cancellations c. Portland used same model in a recent league 2. Open league a. Negative reviews – not as competitive as expected o Summer league general issues 1. Roster numbers – too many games with not enough players 2. Game cancellation and rescheduling 3. Tournaments a. DaBUT o Got cancelled because of Hurricane Joaquin o Might try to reschedule in spring b. St. Hatrick’s o Jes will email Jack Reickel contact information for Occoquan Park c. UltiGift o Dimitry will organize o WAFC to sponsor with Savage and help advertise 4. Operations a. Policy review o Board meeting visitor policy 1. Change text about order of sessions 2. Add text that visitors can be added to the meeting per discretion of secretary and president o Charity and support policy 1. Good 2. Winter indoor league o Kris surveyed the kids, 10 am on Sundays are best o Kris will confirm with Jenny about acquiring indoor space at Armory c. Spring o WAFC Jr league 1. Saturday vs Sunday games 2. Want fields more central to DC o Jacob 1. Weekday league possibilities 2. WAFC Jr league champions banner to hang in schools 7. Miscellaneous a. Next meeting o Sandy will poll for a meeting in early December and early January b. WAFC store o We now have one! 8. Closed session a. Executive director o Reviewed contract o Tim Smith & Julie signed o The board and Tim will plan for next steps and list of duties b. 2016 budget o Julie will created 2016 budget based on 2015’s budget c.
