BUILDING DIVISION PLANNING & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT MONTHLY PERMIT REPORT To Subscribers: Re: Monthly Report for the month of May 2017 The Building Division report of building activity for May 2017 is enclosed for your perusal. In May the Division issued $195.05 million in building permits. There were 890 building permits and 217 zoning verification/property reports issued. For the month, the industrial component was the strongest accounting for 48.32% of the month's total and is valued at $94.26 million with 16 building permits issued. Residential activity accounts for 44.96% or $87.70 million. Of the 598 permits in the residential category, 126 permits were issued for new single family dwellings at a total value of $38.25 million. Commercial activity accounts for 4.61% or $9.00 million\ and the government and institutional activity accounts for 1.40% or $2.72 million.
