The Human Resources (HR) Division partners with the business to deliver on its objectives by facilitating a collaborative, safe, engaging and fair workplace that maximises the potential of people. As a trusted advisor, the primary purpose of the Human Resources Partner (HRP) is to provide high level expert advice, skill development and coaching to managers relating to people management matters including health, safety and wellbeing (HSW). The role exists to facilitate a partnership with managers so that HR and HSW deliverables are implemented in ways which are appropriately tailored to specific client needs, while taking into account the overall strategic priorities and Mind policies/procedures.
Human Resources Division provides core support services in the provision of workforce management and development, payroll and remuneration and workplace health and safety. The Division provides strategies, business processes and systems to enable efficient and effective management of these core support services to ensure Mind is financially sustainable, safe and technologically enabled. The focus on the Human Resources Division is to develop and support a flexible, sustainable and equitable workforce management model, which is underpinned by the provision of appropriate, consistent and timely services, process and information to managers and employees.

Lead the execution of Human Resources strategy and initiatives within the designated client group, working collaboratively with key business stakeholders to achieve overall organisational strategic goals and group performance targets
Deliver timely, credible and consistent advice that is valued, drawing from expertise and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and contemporary developments in Human Resources. This includes support for complex and sensitive people management cases, conducting investigations, workforce planning, organisational design, contractual requirements, remuneration and benefits, job analysis, health, safety and wellbeing and change management
Act as an internal consultant and change agent to support organisational priorities
Develop, implement and support contemporary best practice people management policies, procedures and practices to mitigate organisational risk and improve Human Resources team efficiency, ensuring these are accessible and consistent with organisational objectives
Contribute to the development and implementation of quality people management and employee relations practices, including identifying and responding to new and emerging issues which may impact on workforce effectiveness.
Work closely with finance and client groups’ leadership to support responsible budget management
Act as a coach and trusted advisor to the client groups’ leadership team to constructively support leadership capabilities and a high performance workplace culture
Work collaboratively with the broader human resources team and subject matter experts to ensure effective service initiatives are delivered and implemented with designated client groups
Work in partnership with the talent acquisition team to support the delivery of the talent acquisition strategy
Effectively and constructively manage and build ongoing relationships with peers, staff, senior managers and external stakeholders to support a coordinated, consistent and strategic approach to human resources initiatives
Develop, implement and support contemporary best practice people management policies, procedures and practices to mitigate organisational risk and improve HR team efficiency, ensuring these are accessible and consistent with organisational objectives
Contribute to the development and implementation of Human Resources KPIs and complete projects assigned as part of the process
Proactively review current Human Resources practices to determine where information gaps or emerging learning needs may be present. Work with key business stakeholders to design coaching or training solutions to ensure adequate and correct information sharing across client groups and broader organisation and facilitate training as required.
Conduct research and analysis to deliver projects and business cases that support the organisation’s strategy
Review risk assessments and controls from data received
Conduct audits and risk assessments and investigate accidents and incidents with the support of the HSW team
Proactively drive return to work through the development of goal oriented return to work plans, programs and offers, including revision of programs for effectiveness in consultation with the HSW team
Contribute to the development and implementation of WHS policies and practices, promoting a positive safety culture by contributing to health and safety consultation and communication, undertaking the function as required and ensuring all safety issues are reported and addressed as they arise
Support ongoing wellbeing activities and assist with identifying and implementing health and
wellbeing initiatives as part of this organisational program

Maintain data integrity by regularly updating and analysing HR Information systems and ensuring confidential information sharing processes and practices are applied

Actively participate, contributing to your team and wider organisational initiatives
Undertake relevant training and professional development, including regular supervision
Encourage feedback and contributions for continuous improvement

Reports directly to the Senior HR Partner
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Extensive experience gained in generalist HR role within a complex organisational environment Demonstrated ability to partner with all levels of management and staff to coach and support in relation to HR and HSW policies and practices Understanding of and ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, industrial instruments, policies and procedures Experience in providing expert advice and guidance on a range of HR and HSW issues and the ability to work in a complex, ambiguous and changing environment Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills that contribute to the provision of excellent practical solutions Strong negotiation skills with the ability to use formal and informal channels to engage stakeholders and manage consultation processes
Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, psychology, industrial relations or a related field Certificate IV in WHS or related field (desirable)
