ABOUT ERMHA Ermha exists to ensure that People experiencing mental illness and cognitive disability and their carers can thrive in and become part of the community. We choose to work with people experiencing mental illness and cognitive disability who have fallen through the gaps in the system and where there is no obvious support. We are often considered the provider of last resort. We also work with people experiencing mental illness and cognitive disability considered at risk to support them to live safely and meaningfully in the community. We design services and provide individually tailored support, focused on recovery, independence and social inclusion in all our work. In addition, we develop treatment and behaviour support plans and set goals with our clients that help them to identify and change their behaviours of concern and create social inclusion. This focus on behaviour change means that our staff must be capable, qualified, skilled and experienced, and understand how to both support our clients and manage client and community risk.
POSITION OVERVIEW Ermha has a small human resources team that is responsible for ensuring the organisation is able to attract, develop and retain a capable and high-performing workforce that supports both the achievement of the organisation’s strategy and the growth and professional development of employees. The role is responsible for supporting a range of generalist human resource functions including accurate human resources advice, the maintenance and development of human resources systems and processes to support major organisational change, the impact of the changing external environment and organisational growth. The Human Resources Business Partner will be required to span a broad range of human resources functions and will have portfolio responsibility for Organisational Health and Safety across the organisation.

Human Resources Business Partner KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support Human Resources Advice, Systems and Processes
Provide accurate and timely specialist advice related to the employee life cycle Provide information and interpretation of Ermha employment-related policies on a range of operational HR matters Lead and support recruitment and onboarding processes Contribute to the development, review and improvement of human resources systems and processes Maintain a contemporary knowledge of human resources related issues and practices Assist in the management of industrial issues and negotiations to ensure the organisation meets legislative and regulatory requirements and maintains a cohesive workforce Assist in internal investigations, mediation and conflict resolution as required Assist with project work to support the delivery of the Workforce Development Plan
Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
Maintain, review and implement organisational OH&S policies and practices, ensuring they are compliant with OH&S legislation Maintain a contemporary knowledge of OH&S legislation and practice and provide advice to senior management, particularly in relation to initiatives to improve employee safety Organise and actively participate in meetings of the OH&S Committee Assist with workplace health and safety issues including injury management, WorkCover claims, return to work, ensuring the best outcome for employees and the organisation Maintain accurate OH&S records and compile regular OH&S reports to senior management
Strategic Partnerships & Community Liaison
Maintain productive and positive professional relationships with Ermha staff, visitors and volunteers
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including Government departments, funding bodies, and other Community Service organisations.
Participate in key networks and forums. Represent Ermha in a positive and professional manner in the community
Accountability and Financial Management
Ensure compliance with requirements of legislation, external funding bodies and internal organisational requirements in a timely manner
Maintain accurate and timely Human Resources records and data
Prepare considered and well written reports and accurate data to senior management reflecting achievements, challenges, exceptions and actions in accordance with reporting timelines Page 2 of 5

Human Resources Business Partner KEY SELECTION CRITERIA 1. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource management or other related discipline and/or extensive relevant experience. 2. Extensive experience in a generalist human resources position, preferably in a community services organisation. Understanding of the SCHCADS Award is desirable. 3. A sound understanding of OH&S legislation and experience in OH&S compliance is desirable. 4. A well-developed understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and its impact on organisational workforce development. 5. Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail. 6. Highly developed interpersonal and networking skills and a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence effectively to build productive relationships with stakeholders. 7. Strong communication skills and the ability to tailor information to different audiences. 8. The ability to independently achieve work objectives, manage competing demands and prioritise work to meet organisational requirements. 9. A high level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office and a current Victorian Driver’s Licence are essential.
