Miss Mitchum’s Monthly News
Dear Parents, We’ve had a great first month of school! Hopefully you and your child are growing accustomed to some of our classroom routines and have had an opportunity to log into Gradelink and follow your child’s in class progress. If you have not done so already, please subscribe to our classroom and homework page on the school website: http://www.sacredheartredlands.com. There is where I post fun things your child is doing in the classroom, homework packets and last minute reminders. Class Dojo is a great source of information regarding your child’s daily behavior and serves as a great communication tool. I also like to post occasional updates about classroom behavior here as well. Superkids online: https://teachers.rowlandreading.org/parents/login.aspx is a great place for reinforcing learning at home. When you log in, you will have access to a wealth of interactive reading material, games and resources to help your child become a stronger reader at home. All of these links can be found at http://www.sacredheartredlands.com on our 1st grade Classes/Homework page. Our class will be leading morning assembly the week of Oct. 19-Oct. 23. Reading parts will be sent home at a later date to practice. Our class will also have the opportunity to lead school Mass on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Mass parts will be sent home at a later date to practice. We are excited to be taking our first fieldtrip! We will be go to the Asistencia Villa Rehabilitation and Care Center here in Redlands to sing to the residents there on Thursday, Oct. 29. We get to go at a great time of the year when we get to wear our Halloween costumes! (School appropriate of course) If you wish for your child to participate, please sign and return the permission slip by Friday, Oct. 23.
