School Dinners - Week 1
It was great to see so many parents, grandparents and friends at the Harvest festival on Wednesday. The children did us proud again. We are very grateful for the generous food donations which are to be given to Brecon Food Bank and also for your generosity in the raffle, which raised £102. Thank you. The Year 5 and Year 6 pupils had an enjoyable time at the Lecture at Christ College on Tuesday learning about science and energy. Unfortunately, quite a few children (and staff) have been off this week with a sickness bug. Please can I remind everyone that children should not return to school until at least 48 hours after the last bout of diarrhoea or vomiting, for their own sake but also to prevent spread of infection. Thank you for your support. If you are free on Thursday afternoon, you would be very welcome to come along and support the KS2 children at the Cross Country Competition at school. PTA will be selling teas and coffees too. Finally, thank you to everyone that has returned the parent questionnaires and a gentle reminder if you still have them at home please.

HEADLICE We have had a few reports this week of a return of the dreaded headlice. Please can you check your child’s head again this weekend and treat them if necessary. Can you also reinforce the school message of not sharing hats – this only helps them spread! Thank you.

As part of our focus on improving children’s life skills we are working with Brecon Credit Union to open the Cradoc School Savings Club. This will offer saving accounts to all children and operate during term time. Glenys Williams (formerly of National Provincial) has agreed to act as our “Bank Manager” and older pupils will get involved in running the club, taking cash and completing paperwork, and promoting saving to other pupils. We will also have savings accounts for parents and grandparents; an easy way to save for Christmas/holidays/school residential etc. More info to follow after half term. However, we need another adult helper please! If you could spare an hour on a Wednesday to help us out, we would be very grateful.
