Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, occasional evening or weekend work when necessary.
Required meetings:
Weekly full staff meetings, bi-weekly development team meetings, regular meeting with supervisor
Position Objective: In an effort to streamline development activities and increase funding sources for the organization, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is seeking a full-time Grants Manager to identify, develop and manage grants for the affiliate. This position will work closely with the Director of Corporate, Foundation & Volunteer Engagement, the Director of Development and the Director of Finance to develop grant applications that support and sustain the affiliates mission and programs. The Grants Manager will monitor, evaluate and complete grant reports as due. The Grants Manager also monitors affiliate grants compliance in accordance with grant agreements and terms. Key Responsibility Areas: Manage a portfolio of grants from diverse public, private and government sources. Identify and qualify new prospects for grant funding. Prepare and submit grant applications. This includes grants for corporate build days, program support, general operating support and project support from corporations, foundations and Habitat for Humanity International. Work with the Development Operations Manager to create and maintain an affiliate-wide grant reporting calendar based on grant research and analysis. Updates database tool to track grant opportunities, applications, etc. Monitor compliance with grant requirements and conditions. Prepare and submit funder reports. Steward major grant funders in concert with the development team,; maintain consistent and effective communication with funders and stakeholders. Provide timely reports on grants activity for management. Additional Responsibilities Supports colleagues in delivering affiliate objectives. Including events and initiatives that fall outside direct responsibilities. Represents affiliate at meetings, which may occur outside of normal business hours at night or on weekends and require occasional travel. Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills: 1. Understanding of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia’s vision and desire to advance our mission of affordable housing for Philadelphians. 2. Experience in non-profit development, grant writing and reporting preferred, with a demonstrated knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the grant writing field. 3. Excellent organizational skills and ability to write compellingly. 4. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, plan, organize, and implement multiple projects and meet deadlines 5. 1-3 years of office work experience in a related professional setting, preferably in fundraising and nonprofit environment. 6. Self-motivated team player, flexible and able to work under pressure. 7. Ability and willingness to work with Habitat staff from various teams to develop grant proposals and reports. 8. Creativity, flexibility, ability to adapt to shifting priorities. 9. Attention to detail, and ability to follow-through. 10. Competency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, & Outlook 11.
