Thank you to everyone who showed up to support our awesome PTC this week! We are so lucky to have such dedicated parents support our school! Sami Kader returns on Monday for a kick off assembly!! We are so excited to welcome him back for more circuits this year. He will take each class through one of his high energy workouts on Thursday, so be sure to dress your child in clothes they can exercise in! And just a couple reminders…be sure to make your parentteacher conference online by tonight if you haven’t already AND in case you need them, make up picture day is Wednesday!

SING Recognitions! On Friday, our teachers, staff and Superintendent got together to dance and SING and celebrate with each other. The following students were recognized for their exemplary exhibition of this month’s social skill. This month’s skill is ORGANIZED!
Alice is an outstanding student. She is a wonderful listener, she works hard and always does an outstanding job. Way to go Alice! Mia P is an OUTSTANDING reader. I am amazed on what she reads and how much she loves it. Keep it up lady! Ava B. is very organized in class. Ava always remembers to take out unfinished work and complete it without reminders. She sets a positive example for her classmates! Way to go, Ava! Olivia is organized because she comes to school every day ready to learn, be a helper, and do her best! Rayna is a very ORGANIZED 4th grader! Her desk is always clean and she always knows where things are located. Rayna often helps others find items they need for the next lesson/task. Her organization and helpful spirit make her a great student and a good friend. Rayna's ORGANIZATION is amazing!! In Mrs. Cutter's class we are recognizing Jacob Brown for being organized! His desk is always neat, he always remembers his homework and other important papers, and he keeps track of his supplies. Way to go, Jacob! Jack is doing a great job being organized in Kindergarten! Vivian is organized! She is makes sure she practices her sight words. Way to go Vivian! Graden is organized! He works so hard every day. Way to go Graden! We are recognizing Mia for being organized. She listens and follows multi-step directions. She completes her classwork in an organized manner. Way to go Mia! Room 20 would like to recognize Avery for being an excellent model of what an ORGANIZED student should look like. I can always count on Avery to turn in all her work. Her desk is an always organize in a way that she is able to locate what she needs to complete her work. Everything Avery turns in is very neat and easy to read. Keep up the awesome work Avery! In Room #1 our ORGANIZED leader is Jianna! Jianna comes into our classroom each day and follows our morning routines and is always ready to write in her journal!!! Good job Jianna...keep it up!!! This week we are honoring Ava for "O" organization. Ava is a student who is organized each day. She has her materials ready and can always anticipate what is coming up next. clean and tidy which helps her focus on her in class work. Way to go Miss Ava keep up being an ORGANIZED student! Mia shows excellent organizational skills by keeping her desk, binder and backpack very clean and organized. For this reason, she is able to find whatever materials she needs to get her tasks completed. Keep up the good work Mia! We are recognizing Rhyan T. for being organized. Rhyan does a great job completing all her work on time and does her best work! Congratulations Rhyan! Kendall G. shows ORGANIZATION in Room 5 by always making sure her table is clean and carefully putting away all her supplies in their place. Great job Kendall! In Room 2 we are honoring Stephanie for being an ORGANIZED member of the FORCE! Way to go Stephanie! This week I am recognizing Justin M. for being organized! Justin M. is organized because he keeps his desk neat and knows where his belongings are at all times. Great Job Justin! Declan is being recognized in Room 12 for being organized. All of his work is very neat and he puts everything away in its place. Great job Declan! Mia is a very organized second grader! She always keeps her desk, supplies, and folder organized, so that she is ready to learn! Keep it up Mia! Room 27 is honoring Verdaan S. for being organized. Verdaan is always prepared for school and ready to learn. Keep it up, Verdaan! Emma Z. is being recognized for organized. She keeps her area and desk neat and clean. She turns her work on time and shows organized skills each day. Keep up the great work Emma! Kayleb always keeps his backpack, classwork and homework in the right places. He is a very responsible student and does his very best each day. Jayden consistently shows he is organized by keeping his desk neat and being ready in the morning to begin his day. He uses his organizational tools so he knows exactly where to find his work. Way to go Jayden! Ashley N. is fantastic example of an ORGANIZED student! Her work is neat, tidy, and complete. Her desk is always in good order, so she easily find her materials and they are in great condition. She takes care to follow directions and gets right to work! Congratulations Ashley on being a role model of organization! Ms. Purcell's 1st grade is excited to recognize Honey Eaglin for being ORGANIZED! Honey always remembers to bring her red folder every day, and is so organized, she will even help others to unpack in the morning. 2017 GATE Identification The 2017-2018 school year GATE identification test will be administered at the District Office for students currently in 2 -7 grade. The students will take the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test, OLSAT, which tests abstract thinking and reasoning ability. Students must attend one of the testing dates on the OLSAT Parent Permission Form in order to complete the testing by the district. The Parent Permission Forms will be made available on November 14, 2016 on our district website @ www.rcsdk8.org under the “Parent” tab. All forms must be returned to the District Office by January 6, 2017 if you would like your student tested. There are no exceptions as materials are ordered based on the number of returned forms. Make sure you check the district website under the “Parents” tab for more information regarding GATE services and testing. nd

Please check out the Lost and Found….. It’s growing!!!!! Please stop by the door to the Multi-Purpose Room after school and check for anything that might belong to your child. Any items left when we leave for Thanksgiving Break will be donated to a local charity.
