GENERAL REMARKS 1.
'Tenement' is a general word used to cover all types of permits, licences and leases throughout the Commonwealth, regardless of the specific names given to them by the various States and Territories..
2.
'Date of Expiry' means the date of expiry of current tenure. There may be rights to renewal for further periods, in some cases over reduced areas.
3.
Where two or more companies are listed an asterisk following the name of a company means that the company is the operator in that particular tenement at 30.6.64. -
4.
The Petroleum Tenement Map and this Key is based on information supplied by the various State and Territories Departments of Mines, and additional details should be obtained directly from them.
PETROLEUM TENEMENT AREAS HELD AT 30.6.64 The table below shows the total approved area throughout the Commonwealth in square miles at the end of June 1964, and includes offshore regions. By this is meant all areas held under titles, irrespective of the specific names attributed to them by the various States and Territories. Applications for areas pending approval have been excluded as some overlap or conflict in other regards.

A.T.P. 98P. this tenement is subject to an agreement with Alliance Oil Development Australia N.L. whereby that company will earn a 50% interest by virtue of work done over a four year period.
