Project Experience (Continued), Evaluations were conducted of Safety Data Sheets, blood lead levels and working conditions of multiple employees. Findings and recommendations were then relayed to the client regarding work practices and appropriate protective equipment. California Department of Transportation, Oakland, CA, 2013 The employees working in and cleaning the Caldecott Tunnels, the Webster and Posey Tubes expressed concerns regarding vehicle exhaust soot and respirable particulates. Andersen Environmental toured each facility and the ventilation/exhaust spaces associated with each tunnel with real time gas level meters. Bulk samples of soot and dust were collected and analyzed for Title 22 Metals, and Poly Nuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs). Employee exposure assessments for particulates, metals, PAHs, oxygen, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide were also conducted during work activities in the areas of concern. Findings were compared to the Cal/OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits and recommendations were then relayed to the client regarding work practices and appropriate protective equipment. California Department of Transportation, Fontana, Redding, Eureka, Richmond, Pleasant Hill, CA, 2014 - 2015 Multiple CalTrans materials testing laboratories of various sizes throughout the state were evaluated for respirable silica, particulates, asphalt fumes, coal tar pitch volatiles, asbestos, Title 22 metals, hydrocarbons, noise levels and fume hood ventilation systems. Assessments were made of employee work practices and laboratory conditions. Findings and recommendations were then relayed to the client. California Department of General Services, Sacramento, CA, 2013 Duties included conducting quarterly air monitoring for specific mold species with a focus on the HVAC systems within the building located at 450 N Street in Sacramento, CA. Andersen worked in conjunction with the consultant representing the tenant, the CA Board of Equalization. Viable mold samples were collected from multiple locations of the 22-story building and analyzed via Polymerase Chain Reaction. California Department of General Services, Tracy, CA, 2011 - 2012 Duties included participating in project design meetings, conducting project oversight, perimeter monitoring and clearance sampling associated with the abatement of asbestos containing materials and lead-based paint at the Deuel Correctional Facility. The renovations within the active detention facility were associated with structural seismic retrofit activities. Andersen Environmental also conducted mold and bacteria sampling resulting from sewer leaks within confined spaces in the basement during portions of this project. All activities, recommendations and analytical results were documented during our time onsite. California Department of General Services, Riverside, CA, 2011 - 2015 Participated in the renovation of the California School for the Deaf, Riverside, as the State’s contract consultant regarding the demolition of multiple structures on the active campus. Duties included the providing regulatory guidance, project oversight, perimeter monitoring and clearance sampling during the abatement and removal of lead laden components, asbestos containing materials and soil contaminated with metals and pesticides. All activities, recommendations and analytical results were documented and a project close-out package was compiled for the Client.

Project Experience (Continued), Los Angeles County, Department of Public Works, Van Nuys, CA, 2012 - 2013 Duties included conducting Hazardous Materials Demolition Surveys and participating in the design phase of the project concerning the abatement and demolition of three large steel and concrete structures onsite. Also included was the monitoring of the abatement of asbestos containing materials, lead laden components and removal of universal waste at the East San Fernando Valley Family Support Center. The monitoring activities involved the collection of perimeter lead and asbestos air samples, observation of work practices and the verification of agency notifications and worker certifications. The clearance sampling activities involved collecting asbestos air samples once the containments had been properly abated, decontaminated and granted visual clearance. All mercury containing light tubes and switches, radiation containing smoke detectors, refrigerants, oils and PCB containing ballasts were removed and properly labeled and disposed. Upon completion of the abatement and demolition activities, a project closeout package was compiled with consideration for the projects LEED certification goals. Los Angeles County, Department of Public Works, Malibu, CA, 2012 - 2015 Duties included conducting Hazardous Materials Demolition Surveys and participating in the design phase of the project concerning the abatement and demolition of thirteen structures on the Camp Kilpatrick juvenile detention facility campus. A Subsurface Utility Survey and the monitoring and clearances of all abatement work were also completed during this project. A separate active juvenile detention facility, Camp Miller, is located immediately adjacent to the project site. For this reason, the collection of perimeter lead and asbestos air samples was conducted during all abatement activities. All activities, recommendations and analytical results were documented and provided to the County in a project close-out package. City of San Jose, Department of Public Works, San Jose, CA, 2013 - 2015 Provided a variety of services including regulatory guidance, demolition surveys, waste stream characterization, employee exposure assessments, mold recommendations, limited lead and asbestos surveys and clearances for a number of City owned properties. Private Client, Inglewood, CA, 2014 Performed a Hazardous Materials Demolition Survey of the Daniel Freeman Hospital campus and provided regulatory guidance and recommendations regarding each structure. This complex site consisted of nine structures of varying age and size. These services allowed our client to complete the necessary permitting packages and due diligence required before marketing the property package to a residential real-estate development firm. Private Client, Los Angeles, CA, 2013 - 2015 Worked in close coordination with the Client’s construction management firm and the general contractor during the abatement and remodeling of a former Masonic Temple. This project presented a number of challenges including the historically significant preservation requirements, high public visibility and the complex scaffolding and engineering controls required to abate the fireproofing from all structural steel members above the three story theatre auditorium.
