FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITI PRIVATE BANK SHOWS CONTINUED SUPPORT OF JACOB BURNS FILM CENTER 2008 Silver Screen Circle Exclusively Sponsored by Citi Private Bank Pleasantville, NY – February 19, 2008 – The Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC), a cultural arts institution, today announced that Citi Private Bank, a business of Citigroup, Inc., has pledged $25,000 in recognition of their continued leadership support to the Film Center. “Shortly after we opened in 2001, Citi Private Bank became one of our first corporate sponsors and they continue to play a major role in this organization each and every year,” said Stephen Apkon, Executive Director of Jacob Burns Film Center. “We are delighted to welcome Citi Private Bank back once again and as the sole sponsor of the 2008 Silver Screen Circle.” The Silver Screen Circle is the Jacob Burns Film Center’s most exclusive membership giving program. Through annual donations of $2,500 or more, members support the Film Center’s education and outreach programs. Silver Screen Circle members enjoy a wide range of benefits, including an invitation to the Silver Screen Circle Dinner, an intimate and memorable evening with a filmmaker. The Film Center is proud to have welcomed Robert Duvall, Kevin Spacey, Edward Norton, and most recently Hilary Swank as guests of honor at Silver Screen Circle Dinners. The Jacob Burns Film Center is a not-for-profit cultural arts organization in Pleasantville, New York dedicated to: presenting the best of independent, documentary and world cinema; promoting visual literacy and making film a vibrant part of the community. The programs are inspired by the power of film to challenge, educate and inspire; to transport us to worlds beyond our own; and to create community through shared dialogue and cultural experience. Since the opening in June 2001, over 1,000,000 people have seen over 2,000 films from more than 40 countries. From students learning critical viewing skills and discussing films with the filmmakers, to creating their own animated shorts, the Film Center uses the visual imagery of film as a catalyst for learning.
