Grading Policy ➔ Daily assignments are practice assignments, not averaged into their content grade ➔ Minor assessments include quizzes, quick checks, exit tickets, and typically cover less material than a major assessment ➔ Major assessments include tests and projects
Grading Policy (Cont.) ➔ Each content area will have a “Work Habits” grade in addition to their content grade ➔ Work habits consist of: ◆ Participation ◆ Behavior ◆ Work completion
Reassessments ➔ Students who receive a score lower than 85 may participate in a reassessment ➔ Students must contact the teacher/sign-up promptly and follow the reassessment procedures ➔ Students who retest will receive a maximum score of 85 ➔ The complete grading policy can be found on the MIS website
Curriculum ➔ Refer to handouts for specific content information ➔ Attend open team meetings in the 5/6 Assembly Room from 10:00-10:30 for up-to-date curriculum information ◆ October 12 ◆ January 9 ◆ March 23
Explorations ➔ Some students will be pulled out of their social studies classes twice a week ➔ They will work with Mrs. Hilton in her classroom ➔ New material will not be introduced while students are at Explorations
Tutorials ➔ Tutorials will be offered by each teacher, please see teacher websites for schedules ➔ Students should notify their teacher if they plan to attend tutorials ➔ Occasionally, students will be asked to attend specific tutorial times
Conferences ➔ We meet as a team to discuss child’s performance in each content area ➔ Please email child’s advisory teacher to schedule a conference ➔ Tuesdays and Thursdays ◆ 9:30-10:00 ◆ 10:00-10:30
