6th & 7th Grade Field Trip!! Harvard Museum of Natural History
Dear Parents and Guardians, The field trip to the Harvard Museum of Natural History is upon us!! The students have been broken into groups and we are in our final preparations for Friday! Along with the excitement of going on a field trip, I would like to share some final important points.
Students are required to be in full uniform for the field trip. This includes their IDs. This is more of a security measure and needs to be followed because some students may be with a teacher that they are not familiar with and I believe IDs being worn will help to make sure all students are with the group they are supposed to be with. Students are allowed to bring electronics on the bus, as it is a 2 hour bus ride. They are also allowed to use electronics in the museum within reason. If a chaperone believes that the student is abusing their electronics, they will be confiscated and given to Ms. Strem. Also, students have been warned that if they do bring electronics, it is their responsibility to make sure they do not lose or break said electronics. HCSS chaperones are not liable for any damage to property the students choose to bring with them. Please remember to pack a lunch for your student! There is no cafeteria where food will be available so if they do not pack a lunch, they will not be able to eat! There is a museum gift shop and students are welcome to bring extra money to purchase things from the shop. It is the responsibility of the student to keep that money secure. Students who are not going on the field trip are still required to come to school. They will be placed in a separate room and given extra work to complete while the school day continues. If the student does not come to school, it will count as an Unexcused Absence.
Students attending the field trip will be expected to follow the exact same rules that they are expected to follow within the HCSS halls. Please remind your student that they are a representative of HCSS while we are attending the museum and we should try to always leave a good impression! I look forward to having a great day with the students on Friday and I also expect to hear as we leave the museum on Friday about how well behaved and wonderful our students were! Contact Ms. Strem or Mrs. Ross (
[email protected]) with any questions! Best, Ms. Strem
