Hello to all our St. Mary’s community, I can’t believe it is already May! Where has our school year gone? We had the May crowning of Mary today – it was so beautiful. Our students placed roses around our Virgin Mary statue in the front entrance. Here are some important recognitions and announcements: MAP Testing – MAP testing will begin tomor r ow for our 2nd – 8th grade students. Testing will run until May 12th. We had students set goals this spring based on their performance on the test in the fall. Academic Pentathlon- National Pentathlon Competition on May 20th and 21st. Go St. Mary’s!! First Holy Communion for our Second Grade Students – Thank you Mrs. Chumich and Ms. Lawless for your dedication and work preparing our students for their First Holy Communion. It was wonderful to see our children and their families celebrating this very Blessed Sacrament! Survey results – I sent an email home on Fr iday with data fr om our par ent sur vey and a few questions for our St. Mary’s Families. Thank you to all who have responded. If you haven’t yet, please respond – I value your feedback. Box Tops for Education – Today we received a check for $654 for box tops. Please remember to clip those boxes and bring them to us. Thank you Cathy Stephenson for your help! Accepting Applications for Kindergarten Teacher – we are accepting applications for a kindergarten teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. If you know someone who is faith filled and has experience teaching younger students and would be a good fit for our amazing community – please let them know about this opportunity. Information can be found on our website. Calendar on school website - Please refer to the school website calendar for events going on at the school. I have also posted next year’s calendar on the website as well! As we honor our Virgin Mother Mary this month, here is a short prayer entitled, Beneath Your Compassion We turn to you for protection, holy Mother of God. Listen to our prayers and help us in our needs. Save us from every danger, glorious and blessed Virgin. Blessings, Tammy Emerich Principal
