Adding Acronis backup subscription to a customer Before your customer can start using Backup powered by Acronis, you will need to purchase the subscription for your customer. This can be done by following the below instructions. 1. Login to https://controlpanel.hostedservices.com 2. Go to the Billing side by clicking the link in the top right hand corner 3. Afterwards click on Customers on the left hand side 4. Type name of customer within the search field and click on them. At this stage you will need a provision a new order for the customer to add the backup powered by Acronis onto their account. 5. Click on Orders 6. Click on Add New Order 7. Select the following by clicking the magnifying glass: o Service Plan: (21180) (Backup Services Powered By Acronis) o Subscription Period: 12 Months o o
Parent Subscription: No Parent Subscription Make sure the sales Branch and person are filled out correctly

8. The Domain name is not required as this is an existing customer. Click next. 9. Click the ‘Order Additional Resources’ button at the bottom 10. Select the resource and click “choose category”
11. Tick the radio button next to the resource required.
12. At this point, you can choose how much space they require by manually typing in the number of resources required for that category. For this guide we want 4TB of backup Space. This can be acquired by typing 2.00 within the ‘Additional’ field

If your customer requires space, per GB then please choose the service plan: Backup Services Powered By Acronis. In the example below, we are purchasing 5GB worth of storage.

13. Click place order
At this Stage you’ll have to provision the order to start using the service. This is done by: 1. Click on orders for your customer 2. Click on the Acronis order (the status should be ‘New’) 3. Open the Order 4. If the state of the order is “No Payment method Attached”, then click on Documents 5. Click Add new Payment 6. Select Payment Method: Cash/check 7. Click the General Tab 8. Click Approve/Open Order 9. Once the order is in a ‘Waiting for Payment’ state, the resources will be available within your customer’s control panel.

Setting up Backup Powered by Acronis 1. In order to create the Acronis Backup Session, we first need a domain so we can associate the session with a Service User.

2. Login as your customer by going to Control Panel > Customers > Click on customer > General Staff Members > Login as customer. 3. Click on the ‘Hosted Domains’ tab> Click ‘Add existing domain registered elsewhere’ a. Note: If domain already exists go to next step. b. Domain: Type in provided domain (if not provided, use the one specified in the order form) Zone Management: Unticked (Unless domain is registered with us) 4. Click on the ‘Backup Services’ tab > Click ‘Add New Backup Account’

Configuring Backup Services Please ensure that the following ports are opened on your firewall before you create the backup account and install the client. Host

Managing the Acronis Backup Session 1. Once the account has been created click “Manage Backups”. This will open the Acronis portal 2. Select the user (if logged in as admin) 3. Click ‘Add Machine’ to download the backup client for installation

4. Advise your customer which backup client to download depending on their operating system. 5. They will need to install the program by double clicking on the client.

6. When prompted for the user information, you will need to use the account credentials you have setup on the control panel. In this guide we’ll be using the account

7. The backup client will start the installation process once your customer has signed in correctly

8. Once installed return to the Acronis management portal. Your customer will now see their machine within the backup portal along with the name of their computer.
9. By clicking on the newly added Computer, Server or Laptop your customer will be able to see a list of available actions on the right hand side.
10. You will want to advise your customer on how to start their first backup session. 11. Click on ‘Backup’ at the top of the list

Select what files/folders you would like to backup Select where to backup (default is cloud) Select when to back up Set any retention policies Apply Encryption for any backups created
15. If “Encryption” is selected and the password is lost / forgotten then the data is non recoverable, but can be deleted to clear space 16. Once set, the client will back up as per your parameters.
