Assistant Restaurant Manager Permanent, Full-Time Any 5 days out of 7 days per week. The role will involve working shifts, evenings and weekends
Responsible for: • The effective leadership of the restaurant employees in the absence of the Restaurant Manager, to ensure the efficient operation of the Restaurant and the delivery of Hastings product and service standards. • Promoting and contributing to a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity. • Ensuring quality standards and procedures are fully understood, implemented and regularly reviewed, and that formal and informal feedback is used to ensure continual improvement. • Ensuring company policies relating to cash handling, stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored, taking appropriate action to resolve problems. • Ensuring all restaurant employees receive appropriate training, coaching and development to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards. • Maintaining effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments, suppliers and agencies to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction. • Ensuring the restaurant area, fixtures and equipment are properly maintained and presented to Hastings standards. • Ensuring the security of restaurant and storage areas is maintained at all times. • Ensuring a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures. • To seek and continuously develop knowledge relating to the industry sector and competitor activity, to provide input into future plans and activities, and so maintain and enhance market position. • To ensure the hotel's compliance with all matters relating to licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and all other relevant legislation. Essential Requirements: • At least 1 year’s previous relevant experience working at a Supervisory level in a similar role within the hospitality industry. • Educated to GCSE Level Standard or equivalent, with minimum GCSE Grades A-C in Math’s and English or equivalent • Good awareness of control procedures and solid budgeting experience • Strong operational and management skills • Smart, well groomed appearance • Computer literate, including proficient use of Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable Requirements: • Previous relevant experience working at an Assistant Manager level in a similar role within the hospitality industry. • Educated to third level standard
