Mr. Lamb Samurai Warriors & The Seven Virtues of the Bishod! A compare and contrast of the Seven Virtues of Bishod and the GLA Jewels was a great lesson taught by Mr. Lamb and Mrs, Beard! Safari Stars were also able to articulate Japanese greeting and counting skills. Impressive!
3rd grade Legends were taught about the layers of the Rainforest and its value to our world. Scholars made science connections through the study of ecosystems and created rainforest dioramas.
Ms. Gurgul Growth and Population of India! Via sideshow presentation Ms. Gurgul taught about India’s population and language. Scholars analyzed graphs and mathematical concepts of exponential growth and how it is applied to human population growth!

Meet Mariama, she is from Sierra Leone, West Africa! Mrs. Parker’s 6th grade “Starring Legends” are “Making their Mark on the World” by helping fund her small business! How? Through the KIVA program that our school is now involved in! Stay tune for more info from Mrs. Parker in regards to this 5th-7th grade Global Initiative.
Akwaaba , this word means "Welcome" It is a Twi word, spoken by the Ahan tribe of Ghana. Mr. Rombola and the second grade team have been making global connections with students from Ghana through the traditional pen pal methods ! National Food Day @ GLA
Scholars will pay .50 cents to participate in food sampling of different healthy dishes made from locally grown vegetables, fruits, whole grains and sustainably raised protein.
Scholars will be fully engaged in learning activities surrounding maintaining food systems and promoting safe and healthier diets.
Making our Mark on the World: GLA will donate all proceeds from food sampling to Philabundance & WORLD FOOD PROGRAMEE ($1 Feeds four children!)
