INTRODUCE yourself to the group, and WELCOME each child by name as you STAMP a music note onto his/her hand. Let’s hold up our music notes and shout, “I’m ready to praise God!” (I’m ready to praise God!) Last week, we learned that God hears us when we pray, and He answers our prayers. We praise God for answered prayers! Today we are going to praise God for food and water. What’s your favorite food? (Pause for answers.) Here’s what you’ll need to know today… I Praise God For Food and Water! (Have kids repeat after you 3 times): I Praise God For (wave arms in air) Food and Water (rub tummy)

8. Isaac talked to God about his big problem. He was worried that the neighbors would come to argue again for the water. What did God tell Isaac? (Don’t be afraid. I am with you. I will help you.) After reading pages 74-75, SAY: Isaac’s neighbors could see how God was meeting Isaac’s needs. They wanted to be friends with Isaac. God had answered Isaac’s prayers. Isaac could praise God for food and water, because God had met all of his needs. Let’s say this together: I Praise God For (wave arms in air) Food and Water (rub tummy) K5 Lesson Extension ASSIST the children in finding and reading Exodus 23:25a. When we choose to follow God and only serve Him, we are worshiping. When I love God with my whole heart, I am worshiping Him. What does God promise to those who worship Him? (His blessings will be on their food and water.) DISCUSS: How has God blessed your family with food and water? How can you bless others with food and water?
Memory Verse I can do (thumbs to chest) All this (spread hands out to the sides) Through Him (point up) Who gives me strength. (show muscles) Philippians 4:13 (hold up 4 fingers)
PRAY, thanking God for food and water.
PRACTICE the series memory verse (see margin) with the children by saying the words and demonstrating the hand motions as the children repeat after you. Practice the verse 3 times. When you can say this memory verse by yourself, I will give a special sticker! (Show the sticker. AWARD a sticker to any child who can accurately recite the verse today.) Get everyone to stand in a circle and have a ball to pass around the group. As a child receives the ball, he/she should say one word of the memory verse and then pass it to the next child who says the next word, and so on until the verse is said in full. (Give prompts as needed.)
