Software engineer

You’ll dive deep into code, work with fellow programming experts to solve problems, and build powerful new tools, while producing the world’s most advanced software. You’re required to think about the customer to ensure stellar product quality and provide technical guidance to program managers as they communicate user needs and product requirements.
You’ll be working with progressive, motivated, diverse, and exceptionally creative people to design and manufacture some of the most popular entertainment and PC peripheral devices in the world. We have jobs in a wide range of areas, from product architecture through implementation, verification, and manufacturing. These opportunities represent a variety of disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, optical, silicon, and low-level software for hardware engineering.
Qualifications • Major: engineering, computer science, or related field • One to two years of experience programming in C++, Java, or other object-oriented computer programming language Supply chain planning You’re the link between our hardware development teams and the marketplace. Whether collaborating with team leaders or contacting outside vendors, you’ll use your outstanding communication skills to maximize exposure, strengthen efficiency, and optimize costs for products (e.g., gaming, tablets, PCs, PC hardware, TV and Media Center, and mobile services). Qualifications • Major: operations, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or relevant fields • Experience with global materials life-cycle management and start-up/shut-down process management preferred • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. US work visa sponsorship will not be provided
Qualifications • Major: computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field • Knowledge of embedded programming and C/ C++/C# concepts • Demonstrated ability to analyze hardware and firmware designs Partner development manager You’ll be responsible for creating and maximizing relationships with independent software vendors (ISVs) and system integrators (SIs) from large enterprise businesses to smaller app developers. The partner development manager is responsible for engaging, recruiting, managing, and selling ISVs and SIs on why they need to build applications on Microsoft platforms. The role can be responsible for accelerating adoption and application publication on Azure and other key Microsoft platforms. Qualifications • MBA with an undergraduate degree in computer science or engineering • Five or more years of experience in business development, account management, software project management, or software sales • Excellent public speaking skills with demonstrated experience presenting to executive audiences

You’ll work closely with software engineers to ensure our products exceed people’s expectations. You drive the technical vision, design, and implementation of software solutions. Explore Microsoft internship (12 weeks in Redmond, WA) Explore Microsoft is a summer internship geared toward freshmen and sophomores, offering a rotational program that enables you to gain experience as a software engineer and program manager and receive formal training. Qualifications • Completed an introduction to computer science course (or equivalent) and a semester of calculus (or equivalent) The Garage internship The Garage internship program invites university students who are studying computer science, design and human computer interaction, and related fields to Microsoft Vancouver and Microsoft New England for an internship like no other. This intensive program centers on building apps for Microsoft’s newest and most exciting platforms and devices. Under the guidance of experienced technical coaches, teams of students assume end-to-end ownership for the development and quality of a product that will delight customers and add strategic value for Microsoft. The Garage is a community of interns, employees, and teams from across the company who come together to turn their passion into projects.
