Community Building & Fundraising Events for 2018/19 Take a look at our event calendar below so you know what to expect and can get excited! Each event listed - and more – will be better if you help. Really! (We promise - it's fun and will make your and your family's school experience so much richer.)
o Annual Giving Drive (September-October)-This is by far our biggest fundraiser of the year. Not everyone can afford to give at the same level, but it’s essential that everyone stretch to give meaningfully so we can reach our Annual Giving Drive goal - $1,250,000. All donations are tax deductible & many employers will match your donation.
o World Fair (October 27th at Hollygrove Campus)-This is a dynamic food and fun festival celebrating our diverse community, K-12. It features a giant fair with a passport challenge for the kids and parent-made food and interactive games from all around the world.
o Dia de los Muertos (November 4th at Lafayette Park Campus)-This is a celebration of family & tradition complete with friends, music, art, food and entertainment. It's also a great way to peak at our secondary campus while enjoying a day of culture and festivities.
o Harvest Festival/Bake Sale (December 8th at Fairfax Campus)-The Harvest Festival celebrates our Edible Schoolyard Program—garden, food and the community built around breaking bread together. The bake sale is full of everything from cookie dough to casseroles to feed you and your holiday guests. You can volunteer to cook, find others to cook, and/or just buy items from the sale.
o Jogathon (February at all campuses)-Kids get out there and help us raise funds while getting fit and having fun! Students and their families seek sponsors for their runners—anything from a few dollars to a few hundred. We aim to raise $120,000 across the whole school.
o Carnaval del Mundo (March at Selma Campus)-This event celebrates the Brazilian Carnaval. We have dance performances, food vendors, art to create and student art and activities to show off.
o Gala/Silent Auction (May)-This is our grown-up party with a huge auction, cocktails and dinner. We ask our whole community to look for auction items to build an appealing, profitable auction. We aim to raise at least $120,000.
o Party Book (ongoing)-Larchmont parents host parties and all proceeds go directly to the school. They range from teaching a group of kids to ride bikes to gourmet meals in a festive back yard. Go to https://larchmont.onlinepartybook.com/ to see what you can sign up for!
o Garage-a-rama (Springtime at Lafayette Park Campus)-A community-wide garage sale! Purge your unwanted goods while raising money for Larchmont.
o Charity Buzz (ongoing)-If you have connections to the entertainment world, you can help us by donating experiences we can auction outside our community on the Charity Buzz website. Celebrity and special access tickets are in great demand outside LA, and people will pay for these opportunities. Walk-ons, industry meetings, VIP tix, and premieres are a few things that do really well here.
